The estimated release date for wave 10 is 4th quarter 2016 - the same time we'll be seeing Rogue One in theaters.
Is there any doubt that we'll be seeing the TIE Striker and U-wing being added to this wave the same way the TIE/Fo and T-70 were added to wave 8?

I could see them packaging both ships as an expansion to the new core set for the movie fan base.

Unless the other SKU is a higher number than the rest. Then we don't know.
Considering that they still had prototypes for Wave 10, no way is Wave 10 hitting this year.
I really do not want a new core set... I already have three. One per movie release seems insane.
If they do intend to drop the Striker and U with this wave, it makes sense they wouldn't be shown yet. There's potential spoilers there, I'd presume.

IIRC Rebel Huge had early SKUs and were released much later, leads me to suspect that may be the case and its a Scum huge, besides any new ships could just have newer SKUs than W10

You might be missing the bigger picture here. The movies drive people to Star Wars hobbies, a tie in to a movie might help motivate new players and in turn grow the game and playerbase.

Bingo, It really wouldn't surprise me if there is a new core with each movie for exactly the strategy of bringing in new players. I sound like a broken record as I've posted this a dozen times in the last month, but so long as they keep it as a non-mandatory purchase (like with TFA core), i will happily buy one each time to get the new models and cards.
I currently have 2 Red and 2 Blue core sets and would have NO problem buying at least one more of each one - even at full price, they are still a good deal for getting three ships.

EXactly my thought. The missing sku could be something different (scum epic or aces?) while the uwing and striker take scews after wavw 10
Cores are an excellent value! Wait til they go on sale somewhere, such as Target clearance or MM or CSI and get three ships for the low price of $13-20!!!
All the extra tokens, range finders, templates and asteroids are bonus!

I'd be really interested to see the numbers (if they existed) on how many new people bought the TFA set versus existing players....
I think it is a significant number. The game has clearly grown this year.
