A U-Wing and 2 Tie Striker Core Set at 58 would make a lot of sense. Does not have to be a starter but those two ships will be in it.
Single U and Striker would be 62 and 63 if needed.

Edited by Reaver027I think it will be the campaign box. I have theory that announcing wave 10 was a last minute decision, possibly because they didn't manage to get any wave 9 product there to sell or because the Campaign box didn't seem a big enough thing to announce. I recon the u wing and striker are part of wave 10 and would be better announced after 9 was on sale and they are allowed to talk about rogue one stuff.
I think it should be entitled...
SWX58 "Lets not actually have an SWX58 and wind everyone up making them think there is"
The title might have to be shortened to fit on the box mind you :-)
The first piece of the Death Star from Rogue One.
What I want: Rebel Veterans that contains an E-Wing fix.
What I expect: Either that Scum epic we heard rumors about or a Rogue One tie-in. Not sure I believe that they'd put the Striker and the U-Wing together in an expansion, but they might be trying something new.
Hopefully Scum Epic am predicting Broken Horn
I'm in the camp of expecting something Rogue One related.
Seeing how much is coming from Rebels, maybe a scum epic along the lines of:
Cikatro Vizago's ship "Broken Horn" (Gozanti mashup)
Azmorigan's ship "Merchant One" (another Gozanti mashup) or his "Personal Luxury Yacht 3000" whatever that was...
The SoroSuub Personal Luxury Yacht is a real possibility, since both Lando and Mara Jade used one as well
The only question is how FFG will name the expansion. Will it be "Minstrel-class Cruiser" or will it be "Jabba's Yacht"?
(Jabba, Jabba, Jabba, Jabba...)

I wouldn't be as excited for another core set within a year. Don't get me wrong, I'd still be excited cause I'm jonesin' for some Rogue One paraphernalia. Just not as excited.
Edited by weisguy119I would prefer your outline and I agree it feels too soon for a new core. However, they surely have the Rogue One ships in development early enough to get them out on Force Friday, and the only way to sell ships on Force Friday (i.e. big box stores), is to release a complete gaming experience -- not an expansion. That makes a core set seem likely to me.Way too soon for another core set.My bet:Yeah, I think since there is only 1 missing SKU, it seems likely it will be the U-wing/TIE Striker core set.My bet is the U-wing/Tie striker pack!

SWX62: U-wing

I think a Rogue One Core Set is so hit-me-over-the-head-with-a-hammer obvious it's not even funny. They're not going to let an outstanding marketing oopportunity like releasing a movie tie-in product go by without cashing in. Anyone who thinks anything else is ignoring the most financially lucrative option FFG has at their disposal this year. Like Budgernaut said, they can't release expansions in big retail stores on Force Friday.
This.
Come on, they won't be releasing a core set every year until the end of time, that'd be stupid, right?
Right... ?

I guess we'll see
Isn't there already an image of a certain scum epic out in the wild? or was that a hoax/fake?

Faker than Pam Anderson's most famous assets...
It was a fake hoax.

In terms of Rogue One, does it have to be a Core Set? Remember that it's an anthology movie and DIsney plans to have at least one per year for the next several years, interspersed with the new trilogy movies. What is FFG going to do, release a Core set every year? That would flood the game with cheap ships. Take the new Han Solo movie slated to be next, what, a THIRD Millennium Falcon with some young Han Solo PS8 ability? Granted Rogue One seems to fit the game better than a biopic film. So why not a Rogue One expansion, like Aces/Veterans?
What would be interesting to see is if the movie retcons the origins of Rogue Squadron. If they do then the this would be the perfect time to release an X-wing fix and introduce Rogue Squadron pilots, both from the movie and the EU along with one generic Rogue Squadron pilot. Treat it like Most Wanted, lost of cards reinvigorating ships whose models we already have (T-65) and then a few new ships (the U-wing and TIE Whatever).
Core sets should be reserved for the introduction of whole new eras. Otherwise the Aces/Veterans/Most Wanted style expansions are the perfect way to incorporate new material from future movies without making more boiler plate ships. In the new Han Solo movie for example I'm sure there will be other ships, characters, and villains. Release those ships (be it for Scum or whatever) and maybe a few new cards for the YT-1300. Otherwise the very same overlap in content and characters that links the movies will mean duplicate stuff in game. FFG doesn't want that. So expansions that focus on new material, while adding a few new cards to bring in new stuff for existing ships without doing the models again, makes sense.
Granted Heroes of the Resistance did a whole new Falcon model. But I feel like they went with it because it was *technically* different (lame new sensor dish) but also because those new characters are going to be with us for 3 total movies. They aren't just a one off so it justifies getting a revisit.
Edited by R22I don't think they would do a mixed-faction multi-ship set introducing new models. Period. The howls of rage from the single-faction players...and everybody else in a budget having to pay $30 each for multiples...
There are a lot of walkers, landing craft and atmospheric craft in Rogue One.. Perhaps a ground based expansion..
Scum T-70 and Scum TIE/fo.
I'm curious how well Target has done with the core sets. They both hit $12 clearance, but Target has a fairly short shelf life for all their products. Just curious if their sells warrant more interest for them in future X-wing stock.
It's gonna be a rebel aces pack with a t65 and it's fix, how can it not be?
