Missing SKU: Place your bets for what SWX58 will be!

By PaulTiberius, in X-Wing

Hoping for Rebel Vets, expecting Scum Aces or a Rogue One tie-in that doesn't help the T-65.

I'd personally like either Scum Epic (Jabba) or Rebel Veterans (X- and Y-wing, with a Rogue Squadron...not Rogue One...focus).

Other than that, I am likely done purchasing.

Yes, SWX20 was the "Starfield Game Tile Kit".

Black Bases.

Campaign Box set for X wing.

Rouge 1/Rebel Veterans.

Same difference to me, they'll both contain a T-65 fix if they want to sell.

Yay probably ship from new movie as its not out yet so cant spoil the ship.

Still wish it was campaign box....

SCUM HUGE or ROGUE ONE Expansion... has to be one or the other.

:)

scum epic. Seriously, they need one.

Rogue One Campaign Box with Rebel/Imperial and AT-AT's!

I am guessing it is a Rogue One related core set. Reason: if FFG is releasing a tie-in for Force Friday and wants a big box store to carry it the set has to be instantly playable from the box - hence a core set. The question in my mind is, will it have a U-Wing and TIE Striker or will it have X-Wing and TIE Fighters... Here is hoping for the U-Wing/Strikers, but are those ships even going to be fun by themselves? So many questions.

I think logic is against it being a U/Striker core set. We should expect 3 SKUs in that case, and I also expect the U-wing will be a very crew/support oriented ship, rather than an overall superiority fighter like the X-wing is (intended to be). I doubt they would make for very good balance against each other in core set format.

Now, I could see a T-65 / TIE ln core set with new Rogue One branding and new upgrades, serving as a "stealth" X-wing fix.

U-wing.

My bet is the U-wing/Tie striker pack!

Yeah, I think since there is only 1 missing SKU, it seems likely it will be the U-wing/TIE Striker core set.
Way too soon for another core set.My bet:

SWX58: Scum epic

...

SWX62: U-wing

SWX63: TIE Striker

I would prefer your outline and I agree it feels too soon for a new core. However, they surely have the Rogue One ships in development early enough to get them out on Force Friday, and the only way to sell ships on Force Friday (i.e. big box stores), is to release a complete gaming experience -- not an expansion. That makes a core set seem likely to me.

Thing is that the TIE Striker is huge . Like, easily the size of the Star Viper (swapping height for length). And the U-Wing is basically K-Wing sized (swapping length and width). I just can't imagine FFG doing the 'two Imperial and one Rebel' core set with those ships.

I dunno, maybe if it was one of each? That's...a pretty sparse core set, then...

I think it absolutely has to be Rogue One related. If it wasn't, there is no reason they wouldn't have announced it as well at Gencon. So Rogue Pack or Core set is my guess.

The only question is how FFG will name the expansion. Will it be "Minstrel-class Cruiser" or will it be "Jabba's Yacht"?

(Jabba, Jabba, Jabba, Jabba...)

Money is on some sort of Rogue One expansion. Either a T-65 and U-Wing, or - more likely - a U-Wing and TIE Striker (with hopefully some extras for T-65s).

Maybe the model wasn't ready in time? They've generally only announced things at GenCon that they've had the physical models for.

I want it to be a Scum Epic.

I would think it would likely be Rogue One box set but then there should be there SKU.

But I am predicting a mat like the Rogue One poster.... To be sold at Worlds and releases to the rest of us in middle December.

Campaign boxset of Rogue one: Could have miniatures with it. - Could be sold at larger stores

Champions of the First Order

Rebel Veterans

I doubt it will be Champions of the First Order considering the FO has quite a few pilots, the S?F is just about to be released so they dont know if it needs a fix or new set of pilots yet, and the Upsilon is in this wave....

So unless the the box set is a TIE FO with some new pilots and the Trooper Transport: higgins Boat, then it is most certainly NOT Champions of the First Order.

My bets are some sort of Starter-style Rogue One Box-- i'm hoping a U-wing, Xwing, and Tie Striker.

A scum T-65 :-)

Lol and boo at the same time. Too many cross faction ships already.

Now a TIE that you will see as a cheap filler in some rebel lists.

That's nowhere near too many. There simply are some and it's perfectly OK because the theme feels right.

Wondering if it could be a self contained boxed game that contains the U-wing/Striker and is based around attacking ground targets, but is fully compatible with X-wing

Nope, nope, nope; I highly doubt it's related to Rogue One.

I could honestly believe it is nothing more than a new mat...

Yep, this seems extremely likely.

Almost, except replace the Death Star with Starkiller Base. Definitely going to be a Starkiller Base mat.
