In reference to his ability alone, his ship ability give his condition to the ship that attacks him first during the round, while his crew ability costs 3 and costs you an action to give his condition to another ship. And his condition is just allowing you to look through the Critical effect deck and pick on of the following:

-Reduce PS to 0

-Deal 1 damage if the ship bumps another ship or an obstacle (flip)

-Cannot attack this round (flip)

-Cannot perform a straight maneuver (flip)

And he only deals this crit when he gets a critical result, which means you could use his condition and potentially never really get it to trigger. In my mind it seems the base damage output of the ship and the other critical effects in the deck would be far more attractive than one of the above.

So what is everyone else's thought on Kylo Ren?

He looks rather pathetic and useless … just like in the movie. Nice one FFG, you got the spirit of the character.

Without seeing most of the upgrades I like the crew more than the ship.

Put that crew on a doom shuttle and you have the stuff of Fel's nightmares.

That's the thing. You can not guarantee it. Well, except maybe if you combine Vader, Ren and a Decimator. Hmm, ok. maybe not completely useless.

Yes, vader doesnt go through shields. Except hes still causing you to "suffer a critical hit", which triggers this condition to deal the card instead. Dealing cards goes through shields.

I love the reaction i get outta expert handling decimators. This thing looks even more like it SHOULDNT BE DOING THAT but i'll do it anyway

I said it months ago when people were pushing for a Heroes/Villains of the New Order expansion with the Upsilon shuttle and a Kylo Ren crew card.

And I'll say it now....FFg should havewaited til episode 8 came out before making his crew card, to get a better idea of what he might be able to do in ship combat.

This crew card is somewhat proof I was right.

That condition is really spectacular. The critical damage doesn't have to come from the ship that inflicted the condition. Kylo being PS 6 works well with his ability. A higher PS ship that he is about to shoot will end up with the condition if they attack him. That 0 point EPT that changes an eyeball into a crit against your chosen target might work well for him.

Not really. Wampa doesn't do critical damage. You'd be better of with Winged Gundark.

no wampa actually would be counterproductive.

Wampa rolls a crit, but the opponent never "suffers a crit" because he cancels it and deals them a facedown.
