Kylo Ren's shuttle - first 'regular play' ship not in scale with the others?

....that doesn't look nearly in scale to the other ships? In the movie, the body of it looked about twice as high as a TIE Fighter's cockpit sphere. Here...looks no bigger than the TIE cockpit. Smaller, even?

I didn't see a comment in the article on it, but... no way that is 1/270...

Does look a bit shorter in height than the Falcon is long - which might suggest it's really Epic scale.

Do we know for sure if the wings articulate yet?

Yeah - especially compare it to the Quadjumper in that pic.

It dwarfs the Quadjumper, here - looks like you could easily place two Quadjumpers back-to-back in the body of the Upsilon.

Then look at the pic, above - Quadjumper mini looks quite a bit larger than the Upsilon.

No doubt, this is definitely in the wrong scale...

VCX is in the wrong scale too. They made it to the scale that it would look right if "docked" with the CR-90.

Really? I thought they said the VCX is to scale with the other small ships, which is about the upper limit of ships they could use. It and the Gozanti are both at the same scale as other non-epic ships, last I heard.

Yes the display piece has the wings up vertical so they can move at least a little bit.

16cm * 270 = 4320cm = 43,20m

Canon length of the Ghost 43,9m

I'm pretty sure it's in scale.

The YV-666 is also not to scale...! Seriously, where does Bossk fit in his Nashtar Pup? In the glove compartment...?

It was resized slightly for TCW - 47.4m, compared to the EU's 62m.

It was re-scaled in the transition from the EU to canon (it appears in the Clone Wars series in the current size we have the mini).

As to the Z-95...I dunno, maybe it's docked to the outside 'in canon'? I guess you could fit one inside the body, if it was sideways...

Short version is that the YV-666 we have is correct for the 'canonical' scale.

Or if it had folding wings. Earliest version of the Z-95 (Han Solo Adventures book 1 (Han Solo at Star's End) ) were "swing wing".

It feels like the Quadjumper is really off. In that size comparison posted above, looks like you could fit 8 or more of them in the Falcon.

Looks to me like it's just under 1/4 as long as the Falcon in the pic. Which fits: 7.98m x 4 = 31.92m. Falcon is 34.52m as of the newcanon (Databank has not yet been updated though).

Well I just played the movie and the shuttle looks to be in scale with the tie fighter (the scene after Ren takes Rey).

Then again. Looking at it a couple of times, it might be a little small... But it's always hard to tell with movies.

I understand that it's "correctly" sized, based on the official numbers, but that really doesn't answer the question of how a zed is supposed to fit inside without taking up entirely too much of the interior.

Especially if it's staged somewhere with ready access to (what looks like HAS to be) the bridge - the front is the narrower part of the main body, after all.

If the two miniatures are properly scaled, the zed's wings pretty much have to rotate around the engines, rather than just folding up, to fit inside.

Maybe the simpler answer is that Bossk's YV is customized and has a wider section specifically to accommodate his hidden escape craft, but since Bossk is, really, the reason the ship model exists in the first place, why isn't the model the customized version?

Ok, what actually kind of works is this: The zed is parked upside-down, wings folded up/down in the lower part of the widest section of (what looks like it has to be) the bridge. The Falcon plays with gravity in and around the gunwells so maybe the YV does too, and if this is a customized escape craft, an access hatch could exist on the bottom of the Z-95... Yeah, I think I can work with that... The whole craft could eject backwards out through the bridge ("because f*ck all you guys, I'm BOSSK!")... I... I can get behind this.

I feel better now, but this explanation requires a good deal more apologizing and mental gymnastics than just saying, "Yeah, the YV should actually be a little bigger than it is, but what could we do? The Man said make it >this< big."

Or he has a modified Z. In the EU, his Z-95 can take a passenger, anyway, no? So it's plainly not the same Z we've got at the moment. Maybe the one he flies has no wings at all, and just mounts the blasters right alongside the engines where the wings WOULD have been (or something).

Keep in mind perspective; the image in the OP has the Quadjumper a lot closer to the lens.

I don't think perspective is making THAT much of a difference. What really struck me was other views, especially with the TIE Fighter next to it.

It really doesn't look like a person could easily stand up inside it, if the model really is 1/270 scale. Yet, in the movie, we see Kylo and his Stormtroopers easily walking into it, with room to spare over their heads.

I now have an image of Bossk trying to blow it up without a Pump... And realising he doesn't have lips....
