Talent cards worth it and upcoming decks?

By Arkalid, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

As the title says, are the talent cards worth getting? I love the Adversary decks, which should be a thing in every single RPG, but are the Talent card Decks really worth it?

Also, any more of those handy decks coming up? Something like ship cards or force power cards?

I have seen more than a handful of posts about the extreme ease of use, helpfulness, and swift idea generation that comes from using those adversary decks.

That having been said, I have never used them.

Adversary Decks? YES, Yes, and yes - these are great! Since we just got three new decks this summer, we may have a while to wait. Since they use existing art and already-printed data, these decks can be easier to produce than other content.

What kinds of Adversary Decks do you think we need (presuming you have all 6 to make an informed suggestion)? I'd like to see more ships that fall into certain categories, like Planetary ships, or Capital ships. Environmental-based Adversaries might be fun, too. At the present time, building an aquatic-based campaign is much more difficult with FAR fewer resources than you'd expect. An Aquatic Adversary Deck, or an Arid/Sand Conditions Adversary Deck would be an immediate buy from me.

Regarding Talent Decks, I decline. The art is nice, but I find it slightly distracting. We want a face to remember for a Dandy Gambler Adversary, but must I always look at that art depiction of MY talent? Also, they are not as immediately useful unless you've a baseball card binder and shove them in with a character sheet.

The specialization decks are personal preference for sure. They would be useful as a refresher at the next session. Some people don't have the greatest of memories and a small deck would beat having to page through a book.

I like having a copy of the talent tree with my character sheet. In addition to knowing what I currently have, it gives me a chance to plan for future talents as I consult the tree for use.
