Rens actually kinda really powerful

Just took a moment to realize "suffer critical damage" doesn't mean "dealt a face up damage"

Crit damage can plink off shields just fine until Ren mind slaps someone with a pilot card instead

When I read the card initially I was not impressed, loved the model though.

Then I read your comment here.

I had to go check the rules and you are 100% correct, any crit, shields or not and that card takes effect.

OUCH!!!!

Idk about FO FOs (omega ace?...nah)

With Co-ordinate on the Batwing, I don't know - you can set up the 'automatic kaboom results' on Omega Ace fairly easily.

It's a **** capable ship. Even if the dial is no better than a lambda, the access to Electronic Baffle and Pattern Analyser have made ships with lousy dials a bit better, and the Elite Pilot Talent can be either Adrenaline Rush or even Expert Handling for a proper batwing-style barrel roll.

Epsilon Leader might not be a bad call, too, if there's a lot of red on the dial.

The ship isn't a Lambda MkII. If you want it as an improved palpatine transport, you'll be disappointed - not because it's not improved, but because taking it means you can't afford two decent aces to fly with it. So you're stuck with one decent ace in a TIE/sf and one TIE/fo, or maybe 2-3 TIE/fos. The Batwing has to be a primary combatant in and of itself.

Which isn't necessarily a problem. It's bloody tough. It has a 4-dice primary attack and the slot for a Fire Control System. It can take sensor clusters and automatically roll an evade whenever it has a focus token (recon specialist might be nice)

Problem is we all associate "critical damage" with faceup damage cards when it isn't. Just look at Vader crew, he deals "critical damage" which can end up doing no more than plinking a shield

Critical damage is just defined as the result of uncanceled crit results in the rule book. Doesn't matter if it hits a shield or deals face up damage, it's a critical

So Rens just gotta have a buddy fart out a Crit through some green dice and SLAP, you've broken poe dameron (just like in the movies!)

Don't stack em, though! Rens condition says "instead of"

Rather than critically plink a shield, you give your most hated enemy a face up damaged cockpit

Anyone else thinking it'd be fairly appropriate to use a Darth Vader crew to do so? (Kind of want an 'alternate art' card of just the burnt helmet)

Kylo Ren's pilot skill is sufficiently low that your opponent's best often shoot first. Which will trigger the pilot ability and assign I'll Show You The Dark Side to that ship. Then Ren shoots, and after the attack Darth Vader does what Darth Vader normally does - but far, far worse because it'll be a pilot critical of my choice straight through your shields. And then Kylo Ren's Shuttle stresses you to add insult to injury.

This ship is the highlight of this wave.

I expect no arguments.

No Sabine's Tiefighter, mocking all Rebelplayers expecting A-Wing with Aux. Arc.

Good points made here... good ole Ren in EPIC!

:D

It will be sweet to have Ren Bat and these guys landed and looking cool in my EPIC Land Wars Games... just say'n... loves.

Crit damage can plink off shields just fine until Ren mind slaps someone with a pilot card instead

So does that mean you roll get a crit the crit hits the shield then the chosen card gets dealt? So basically you're doing 2 hits -1 on the shield and the Crit card itself counts as a hit directly plus the effect until its flipped down.

That CRIT damage either removes a shield or deals a faceup damage card if there are no shields to remove

Kylo Ren's condition INSTEAD deals the face up damage card

EX: backdraft shoots at fat Rey and gets two hits + 1 CRIT

Rey c3po + evade cancels both hits and leaves only the CRIT uncanceled

INSTEAD of losing a shield, she is dealt ILL Show You the Dark Side's damage card face up

If she only has c3po she first loses a shield to a normal hit result and THEN takes the condition's faceup card IBSTEAD of losing another shield

No. because you're assigning the card 'instead' - so no shield token lost.

You put that thing on Inquisitor

you click your fingers. if he doesn't evade it all he's toast.

Not quite so bad. At most it can be one faceup damage card, and because it must be a PILOT critical, it can't be Major Explosion or Direct Hit.

The definition of suffering critical damage during an attack (as opposed to obstacle damage or Vader crew) is when an uncanceled CRIT result hits the defender

That CRIT damage either removes a shield or deals a faceup damage card if there are no shields to remove

Ok I didnt have the card in front of me cool So basically you pushing 1 dmg for the faceup and whatever it says. Thats still awesome though.

That's VERY awesome

It ruins high ps opponents with damaged cockpit and infuriates ordnance carriers with blinded pilots

And it just makes corran cry

I'm not sure why everyone was saying its such a bad card. At this point I just hope the dial is good I love everything about it can't wait. Hope I can at least make a 3 ship list, I really want another huge ship to play, my Decimator just doesn't seem competitive anymore.

People thought it was bad because we all had "critical damage" INCORRECTLY ingrained in our minds as "dealing a faceup damage card"

So we all thought it didn't go through shields; just replaced a faceup card draw with the faceup card you picked

I had to go through the rules to confirm otherwise for myself :P

CRIT damage was ALWAYS CRIT damage even if it just plinked a shield. Case in point, Vader (crew)

Enemy suffers a critical damage

Which could just be a shield token

That's VERY awesome

It ruins high ps opponents with damaged cockpit and infuriates ordnance carriers with blinded pilots

And it just makes corran cry

Wraped up in a four to five red death spitting highly durable ship that can cordenate with dual arc TIE Fo SF Fo Fo's...

And Determination is a hard counter, but uses EPT slot. Still it may end up being worth it on bombers.

Does anyone know, does this picture show the wings at maximum extension? In the movie, it always looked like the wings were in the process of deploying or folding, so I've always been curious what the ship is "supposed" to look like when locked into cruising mode.

It doesn't look big enough to light. Aw...

FFG got it righ, remember when Kylo was flying back to his FOSD, we saw the wings at full flight then.

So: 4 Attack dice, 6 Hull, 6 Shield, a System, 2 Crew, 2 Tech - for some 29 points generic pilot. EPT-enabled for the more expensive ones.

Didn't it strike anyone as stupid powerful compared to Lothal? C'mon, the new toys are exciting, but this amount of powercreep is just tasteless...

Also, any hints on the Action icon present on this picture?:
swx60_layout.png

but oddly enough not on this one, though...

swx59-61_titleimage.png

EDIT: Nevermind the second one, just noticed that the Rebel TIE has no actions here, so the whole picture must be messed up.

We really even CONSIDERING power creep when we don't know the dial?

Of an imperial SHUTTLE

So strong his face is...
