Yeah, 16HP for 6 points would probably be worth it, even with a weak-ish attack. But maybe they'll do something else interesting...
Jabba's Realm
Have we seen anyone with a static "-x" ability yet? The hired guns have the -1 dodge, but that's in the body of the card as an ability.
Onar's card has "~: +2 Damage, -2 Accuracy", and the Hand Cannon lets you apply -1 damage to gain 2 accuracy I think. But no static ones so far.
I mean, RR with -1 damage isn't terrible, but for a 3-point melee figure, even with reach, it's not a ton of damage. I'm guessing they will have 7-8HP, 4 speed, and a defensive ability, either for themselves (like a defense die reroll) or for allies (like Vengeance or Sentinel). It looks like their only surge is Cleave - but it could be a Cleave 2, which wouldn't be OP if they roll RR, I think.
RR -1 is weird because R -1 is very close to B, so they could just go RB and save the extra math every attack. RR is also weird because you now have interplay between Murne and Stealth which could make a squad of Gamoreans immune to stabbing each other when Murne points out that it would be a really good idea to do so, so RB would again be a more likely choice than RR -1. RR -1 also has a minimum damage of 1, which would make these guys a pretty unreliable choice. So I wouldn't think it would be RR -1. Given that they only have 1 (visible) surge option I'd think the most likely would be RBB -1. I'd still probably rather have a probe droid, but the gamoreans will likely have better health or maybe 4 speed to make up for it.
Yeah it's probably going to be odd, whatever it is. I guess we'll find out!

Sort of, anyway. It's RR with -1 damage, and a defensive ability. Only 5 HP though... that's lower than heavy troopers. Not sure how I feel about them. Will have to look at some more of the math on their attacks.
Elite GGuards seem like huge improvement though. Lose the -1 Damage, free attack reroll, +1 block from ALL ranged attacks, Cleave 2, and 6 more HP, all for only 2 more... I think elites are going to be the unit of choice if you take GGuards.
RR has more pure damage and much less chance of a surge, so I can see why they went that way with the attacks
The elites are way better one everything in this wave except the Rangers. GamGuards, Weequay and jump troopers elites are all head and shoulders above their regular counterparts. My concern about the Weequay is that they seem to serve a similar purpose as the HK, but at first glance don't seem as good. Health is the only thing they have going for them

I think I'd generally rather have eTusken and I only pick them for theme, not to put good units on the board.
Looks like the RR-1 was to keep the same dice as the elites.
It's too bad they don't have an ability to let you deploy 1 figure. I could see putting maybe 1 on the board for 4, but spending 8 for that? Nah. Why dew that when you can DEWBACK! I mean, COME ON, Gamorean vs. FLAMETHROWER? It's not even a question.

Well, we haven't seen the Dewbacks yet, but I bet they are going to be awesome
Why would you rather have the ETuskens? They cost one point less, true, but they do significantly less damage, don't have reach and are much easier to kill. Unless you're talking Skirmish, then yeah their command cards help. But we haven't seen command cards for the Gamorreans yet; they might get some good ones.

eTusken get +1W, they're not significantly less damage, particularly if you factor in weaken or the occasional ranged attack that Gamoreans can't make. They also reinforce for 3 instead of 4. If the 1 health and possible bonus block pay off to require an extra attack to kill them, then they're definitely worth their points but otherwise I'd rather be spending them on Trandoshans or troopers. 8 is a lot of points that would require an event or a double threat deployment at the start of the game. Otherwise it would require saving up for, which is always bad.

Also, in regards to cards, eTuskens also have access to most of the same cards Gamorreans have on account of both of them being Brawlers. Gamorreans get Guardian cards, which aren't all that hot, while Tuskens have access to the phenomenal Jundland Terror card.

Even with the +1 damage that the Tuskens have, the reroll for the Gamorreans ups their damage by quite a bit (and just makes them more reliable damage-wise). Their reach sort of equates to the ranged Tusken attack, considering that the Tuskens have a minimum range of 2, so it's a little risky to go beyond Reach range anyway. Also, cleave 2 is a lot better than cleave 1, especially when you have reach (though it isn't going to happen much unless they're hidden or focused)
It's hard to say how much their extra tankiness might come into play. If your Tuskens usually get overkilled by a lot, then yeah an extra point of health and the +1 block aren't going to make the difference. But it might be enough to at least force your opponent to commit more resources to defeating them.
Yeah I honestly don't get much use out of the surges for the etuskens. I love them, but that's due to the RG + 1 which gives very consistent and good damage for such a cheap unit.
