Jerjerrod - Making Vics work again!

By Crabbok, in Star Wars: Armada

Look at this guy OMG

Vics are gonna party like it's 1999!

So this is the Empire Drift version of Madine. I now decree that two players must play a match with them as the Admirals. DEMAND IT!

Now it reads to me that you CAN NOT move at only 1 yaw for the 1st click in this case. So it could be a slight double edged sword in that regard. 2 or nothing.

Yes sir. I was thinking about selling a VSD but happy I did not.

Ps great to see you posting again Crabbok well that's more of a me not being on here much.

VSDs doing a 90 degree turn at speed two with a navigate? What is the world coming to?

Wrong. Nothing of the sort. A ship with yaw 2 can click only once.

So with a Nav command, couldn't a VSD make the same speed two turn as a Raider? (II II)

Yes!!!

This was my thought as well.

A ship with 2 yaw can absolutely click once. However This guy doesn't change your Yaw on your card, he changes the Yaw of your current speed to II - While this is simply wording, why this distinction? It looks to me like it was worded this way to mean that you change it to II, not "up to II", but maybe I'm assuming too much here?

Because he doesn't actually change the ship card. He changes the effective value for your current speed.

A value of II can be clicked to I.

Because the rules state that Yaw is defined as per the Ship Card. And that is a Value of -, I or II.

There is no inherent rule that states if you ahve a Yaw Value of II, you must click twice. Only that a Yaw Value of II allows you to click twice.

You are reading too much into it, adding a restriction that does not inherently apply, my friend :)

Fair point. Well put.

That is wrong. It modifies the speed chart so you can get whatever you want from it.

Yeah. All cleared up now.

Boring conversation anyway.

Move along.

Etc.

:D

Yes this really does help the VSD at speed 2 with a nav...but think of what the ISD can turn at speed 3 with a nav. ;)

This is what I first thought of when I saw this commander... Forget your madine, my ISD's can now huck basically u-turns lol

The most important thing about Jerjerrod - he's now the only released Imperial commander who was present at Endor and not dueling a jedi.

This guy will replace Ozzel in my board control lists i think. Only 4 more points and the flexibility he gives ships is impressive.

Think also what it does for Demolisher and Raiders

A demo that can have an effective nav chart of ||-||-|-|| with ET at speed 3 which can allow it to virtually U-turn into the flank of a Liberty.

Can't wait to use this SOB

Just imagine Raider's going speed 4 with a a yaw of; 2,1,1,1

Anything with Engine Techs will just turn on a dime and quite fast too.

Yes, you might not want to do it too often with Raiders as that damage will add up, but you wouldn't really have to.

I love the commanders that help navigation, Madine and Ozzel, but what I really like about this one (who will I will not attempt to spell at this time) is that you don't have to lock in Nav commands all the time to get benefit out of them.

No it would not. Current speed is whatever is on the dial not what you are moving. So unless you are moving speed 1 it wont matter.

Yeah his downside is the damage point, not the necessity of commands. I like that it got mixed up a little bit too.

Good catch.
