What are your post Demo thoughts?

Oh, just noticed, 30 cards equals 30 points of characters. Would it be as simple as 20 cards equals 20 points or 45/45 say?

That seems logical. You'd definitely want more cards for more points, otherwise all the games might come down to who runs out of cards first.

Let see if that is gonna be official (so you can choose the amounts of "points" to play) but seems a bit difficult to control. Maybe the game is not tested or prepared to different numbers, maybe get broken...

I'm going to wait for the reviews before buying in, but if it's fun I'll buy a booster and some starters.

Going in to Gen Con as a CCG player already, I was interested and excited about finally having a Star Wars CCG back on the market (I love the blind buy aspect of games and hate the LCG model). However, I tried Dice Masters in the past and didn't care for it, so the aspect of dice really turned me off. On Friday I played the demo. And I can tell you from the get go, it was a very fun game. The dice rolling adds to the strategy of the game and the discard to reroll any amount of dice takes away from the random 1/6 getting screwed chance. I ended up playing the Demo 8 times this weekend and it only got better as I went. As far as time to play goes, it took 15-20 minutes for two turns early on, but on Saturday when I played with a fellow experienced (well as experienced as you can get playing 2 turns demos at Gen Con) we finished two turns in about 7 minutes. I think the pace will be good in the full version. The game looks expertly done and pretty much balanced (even if the starter sets are not balanced, lightside gets 25 points of heros while darkside gets 20) but the final determination will be once the full set is released and we can see what kind of broken combos there are. I would say I learned from the starter set, generating resources is very hard to do at many times, Equipment or support cards that add dice are worth their weight in gold (more dice = more actions and that's always top dog in a card game), and shields seem to be not worth the trouble. Once again these are all observations made from a very basic starter set, the full set will likely include cards that make getting resources easier and generating enough shields to matter easier as well.

My twin brother got to demo the game yesterday. He said when he got close to the table, he could watch a few games. These were his thoughts as he watched the games.

Game 1: This looks ridiculously boring.

Game 2: I still don't understand why anyone would play this game.

Game 3: Wait, I'm starting to see the strategy here. This is kinda cool.

Played the demo: Hey, that was actually a really fun game! Unfortunately, there are already too many fun Star Wars games, so I won't buy it, but it seems like a good game.

For my part, I don't know that I can get in on the random distribution in good conscience. I swore them off when Star Wars Miniatures ended and I'm not sure if getting in is a good idea. I am very curious about drafts, though. If drafting is a thing, I'd like to at least do that once. If I can, I'll at least get one of each starter, just to have a fun game to bust out when I'm in the mood for some episode VII action on the tabletop.

I'm sure I'll buy at least the starters so if you want to try it you can play with me.

That would be fun! Because I'm quite sure my wife wouldn't enjoy it as much as I would, and my daughters could probably understand the basic rules, but wouldn't be able to grasp the strategy for a while.

I liked the game play alot! It seems alot more star wars (thematic) than the lcg. You start with your team of heroes and they work together to defeat the enemy team in a duel. Not 100% sure how I feel about the collectible nature of it, but if they can create a fun draft mode I'll be on board.
