Can Emon Azzameen drop a Cargo Token with a hard turn 3?

By Mu0n729, in X-Wing

As far as I'm concerned, when the rules card says it can be dropped "in the same manner as a bomb," I'm dropping it like I would a bomb. That includes pilot abilities.

Sure... You can make the rules do whatever you want when you completely disregard the English language .

Tell us, what a part of these things not being bombs, and Emon's ability applying to bombs, to you find difficult to understand?

No need to be rude.

They're not inherently bombs, but they are dropped in the same manner. The Using Bombs rule card states that they are dropped using a one straight template, yet is overridden by several pilot abilities in this game. FFG explicitly states that their written rules are overruled by the text on pilot and upgrade cards.

When a new card is dropped in the same manner as a bomb , and a pilot ability alters the manner in which bombs are dropped , I would say that applies.

You can say it.

You're wrong. But you can say it all you want.

Rigged Cargo is not a bomb. It is deployed like a bomb, but that does not extend to cards which allow one to drop bombs (or have interactions with bombs) outside of normal rules.

Because it's not a bomb.

Again

Dropped like a bomb

Is not a bomb

No emon

No room for ambiguity

Part of me has this feeling of: 'yeah it's not a bomb but that's actually a GOOD thing.' You can still use a bomb drop before dial reveal then after moving drop the Cargo as well, It's not a net but it's cheaper.

Didn't need the merchandise anyways. Or is it garbage..

!!!!!

GOT IT! it's the Christmas Special!!!

I wish it WERE a bomb, mind

Not for emon, but for my lovely little aSLAM warden :(

Ah right large only

Nvm illicit is fine

I'm not being rude. I'm expressing frustration at how people on this board (e.g. you in this particular thread), appear to willingly ignore basic tenants of the English language, as well as logic, in order to bend the rules in order to achieve a particular desire.

As others have already stated above this reply; Emon's ability applies to bombs. Cargo debris tokens are not bombs . How you seem to think one applies to the other defies all reason; other than you want it to be so.

The rules card states first that the debris are dropped in the same manner as something they are not. It's not a logical jump or at all to want to know if cards modifying the manner in which one type of thing is dropped applies to the other things that are dropped in the same manner as the things things being modified. Yes, I know that they aren't bombs, but they are dropped exactly like them, and rules cards are overridden by effects on pilot and upgrade cards.

This is exactly the type of phrasing one is taught to avoid in technical writing when creating standards. You don't compare and equivocate two things, especially if they are supposed to be differentiated.

Apples and Oranges are not the same, but they are both fruit.

Bombs and Debris tokens are not the same, but they are dropped the same way.

I say no but wish it was a "yes". Emmon is the most fun you can have in a firespray (not for long me thinks).

I'm sorry, but this is gold right here...

Ok I'm gonna approach this from a fluff side of things:

So Emon is an ace at deploying bombs and mine: he understands his tech and is able to just his engine and thrusters to roll that bomb right where he wants it to. however this time his pursuers have weaved and avoided his mine placement and he's sweating a little now.he has to do something more devious to shake them off. He still has a valuable shipment onboard but it's not worth his life so he dumps it out drifting as a barrier between them and is able to escape.

Short version you don't plan on losing your precious cargo but you gotta do what you gotta do to survive and it's a last ditch effort.

No use posting here. Some just want to argue. If they haven't figured it out by now they never will. No you don't need a FAQ. Search you feelings..

My Feelings tell me I want to have the option to drop a bomb and my 'valuable' cargo of the Christmas special on the same movement if needed.

I know it to be true.

Lol. Touche. Typing in a hurry and not checking myself. *tenets

They're not inherently bombs, but they are dropped in the same manner.

NO THEY ARE NOT. The rules card for using cargo DOES NOT SAY ANYTHING about it "being like a bomb".

The rules card for debris clouds says they are sometimes dropped like a bomb, but so far we have NO debris clouds whose rules say to drop it "like a bomb".

If, sometime in the future, they included an upgrade whose rules specified that it dropped a debris cloud "like a bomb", THEN there would be a legitimate argument re: Amon, but neither Rigged Cargo Chute nor it's rules card says anything about bombs.
