Luke Skywalker, galaxy's greatest pilot (AAR of sorts)

By Green Knight, in Star Wars: Armada

So I'm in a bad spot, cuz Matt Shadowlord is too clever for me, and is forced to toss in Yavaris in a suboptimal position (Hyperspace Assault).

Long story short: Luke is unengaged (thanks Jan) when Yavaris' turn comes up.

He taps Lando's MC30 for a hit. BCC are out of range (gee I'm a bad player), so I let that stand. Matt takes the hit.

Next shot...hit/crit...LANDO time...another hit/crit...Mon Mothma time (we actually forgot about her at first, or would have resolved the evade first)...and a third hit/crit in a row.

MC30 is down to 1 hull...go Luke!!!

Crit time...structural damage comes up as the first card...didn't even need Dodonna's ability.

Poof goes the - before this unhurt, full shields - MC30...glorious!

Lessons learned: Matt is smarter than me, but Luke is the greatest snubfighter pilot of all time. And who needs skill when you can just have hot dice!?

A brand new untouched ship, killed instantly in a single activation by Luke Skywalker even after Evades and Lando.

Great shot kid, that's one in a million.

Ouch. . . Yea, Luke will be coming into his own now. Same with Nym I think.

The secret to winning most Armada games: roll more black crits and red doubles than your opponent.

Thats a nasty set of rolls you got......I've always dreamed of playing playing Luke, yavaris and tallon, then aiming for getting last first. Never played the list because I could not face the outlook of setting up the perfect five Luke shoots in a row and rolling blanks ( the boy is the ultimate in wide common cause variation).

My vassal dice were terrible yesterday.

I think GreenKnight should be sectioned for making sacrifices to the dice gods.

I told you your gods had adopted me! You said no, and now they are angry!

Appease them by sacrificing some old d20s

Still a Better plot than ep7

See, 2 contains would have stopped this cold, and not even at the cost of a def token.

Needa can stay on my ISD's where he belongs with TRC's.

Luke is dirty, and going to get even dirtier with Bomber Command.

YES, finally someone who understands how amazing two contain tokens is on the Interdictor.

Almost all fleet builds with the interdictor are squadron light, and watching play on vassal, its almost always the interdictor which gets mobbed by enemy bombers. It kinda just shrugs it all of because of those contain tokens.

Repair/Repair/Repair.

of course, if the first Shot was Hit/Crit, and the second shot was Hit/Crit, all the contains in the world would mean squat to an MC30 with only 4 hull :D
