I need someone to confirm me this:
1) When a squadron is attacked, only hit icons count toward the damage, even if it was attacked by another squadron. However, if the defender is an elite squadron and thus has defense tokens, and if the attacker rolled say one accuracy and three damage, the attacker can block the use of one defense token and deal the damage as well.
2) If a squadron attacks a ship and it rolls a critical the ship suffers no critical damage even if its shields are down (Why is this anyway? Why can't a precision squadron strike cripple a capital ship?). But if the squadron rolls an accuracy and a damage or critical it can block the use of one of the ships defense tokens and deal the damage.
3) Based on 2), if a ship uses a squadron command dial and more than one squadrons attack the same capital ship, does it count as as several separate attacks? So if one squadron blocks a defense token with its attack, then the strike of the next squadron's attack can be compensated by the said token. Or do they count as one attack and therefor if one defense token is blocked it is blocked during the whole squadron activation (but logically that would mean that the total squadron damage could be halved by a brace token)? Same goes to a defending elite squadron.
