Considering the pace of releases from previous years, it seems very likely that they are settling into a trend to announce a new wave at Gencon each year, and then announce something else on Star Wars Toy Day in the fall. My prediction is Wave 10 announcement tomorrow. Considering they announced the last epic ship at Gencon last year, it's likely they'll do it again this year, and it'll be a Scum Epic ship. In the fall they'll likely announce some sort of heroes pack for the new movie, including something to tie into Rogue one.

As for Scum aces, there's also the potential for Rebel Veterans, as well. I'd like Scum Aces to come first, followed by Rebel Vets at a later date, then hopefully Scum Vets as well. I really love how the Aces/Vets packs give us more options for playing the ships we have, with new pilots, new generics, new titles and upgrades. With everything always 'buy this new thing', I find that ships fall out of favour too much, and people just use the shiny new stuff. I LOVE how my Imp Vets is making me fly Defenders and Bombers, because when I tried them ages ago, they weren't any fun. Now they are. Each time they do a aces/vets, it makes me fly my old ships, which is good for the game.

Anyway, point is I think there'll be a Wave 10 announcement tomorrow, and likely a Scum Epic announcement. We could also get a Scum Aces or Rebel Vets announcement, but they might save that for Star Wars Toy day, along with the Rogue One spoiler tie in product.

What does everyone think? With Wave 9 now fully revealed and in some lucky few's hands, is Wave 10 inevitable? I kind of am hoping that it isn't revealed, as odd as that sounds. I really like the attention Wave 9 is getting right now, and if Wave 10 is revealed tomorrow, this whole forum is going to flip the page and Wave 9 is going to be old news before it's even been swallowed.

So do we need to prep ourselves for a big reveal tomorrow, or is there some slim chance there wont be any X-wing announcements?

I've played a handful of epic games before. They're fun. But some other people think they're tiresome and it's generally hard to get a bunch of people together for a whole day to play one.

I'd love to play more of them as I enjoy them more than the standard game mode.

Also, Palp Aces is broken and ruins the game.

I'd personally be okay with a Wave 10 announcement. I'm not the most hyped up about anything in Wave 9, so even some images of ships from the next wave with a long wait until any info is revealed is fine by me. I can still focus on what I want to do with anything from Wave 9 when I get it too; a Wave 10 isn't going to overshadow Wave 9 for me unless I let it.

So a Wave 10 reveal or teaser would be good, a new Epic ship (Scum is the optimal choice but I don't care about Scum, so even though I want S&V players to get an Epic ship and be happy, a cool new Imperial Epic ship wouldn't bother me either), and more news about the Armada campaign expansion is all I want. I want news about and a release date for the Armada campaign expansion, because I am pretty sure that we'll see an X-Wing campaign if this one does well, so it needs to hurry up and come out (and hopefully sell a bunch).

We still wait for more info on Heroes of the Resistance (aka "the extension no one needs but we need to sell more ep VII stuff before rogue one comes out").

why would they announce a new wave on a Saturday? .... think they will wait for force Friday

Wasn't last year essentially - announce part of the wave (with obvious gaps in the SKU numbering), then announce the "new film" set/ships as part of Force Friday? there's no reason they couldn't do that again. though the TIE/FO and T-70 came out ages before the rest of wave 8, really being more of a wave 7.5.

Even if I was to never play a game with it, if Epic Scum is something as nice looking as Star Jewel I'll buy it - it'll be the back-drop for the Scum shelf of my display cabinet.

Plus, the Crew options (not that Scum need more) for a Jabba yatcht would be a great link back to OT - Bib Fortuna, Slave Leia, and perhaps a "Team" of sycophants with some quirky effect.

I love Epic but haven't any desire for an Epic S&V ship. But if so it will probably include a fix for a smaller earlier expansion. Too bad really.

Sense we have so many models now, including several S&V large ships, I would rather see content for scenery such as asteroids, asteroid bases, space stations, even smaller ones, satellites, satellite turrets, satellite becons, or even AT-ATs and AT-STs, I would love to see stand alone missions that could be combined into campaigns to use the released scenery. It would be nice to get a ships or freighters for the missions that didn't out preform fighters, maybe something like containers. Whoo Hoo!!!

Star Destroyers look great. Some are slice of pizza, some are definitely an arrowhead. The Action IV, tho... uninspired and clunky-looking, probably the ugliest SW ship, along with Rogue II. I'd probably buy it for the gaming possibilities, but it'd be unlikely to stand in my shelf.
