That's exactly how Fel works. He WANTS to PTL every round.

And it's glorious when he can. Just beware of anything that might cause you to skip your Perform Action step, because then it falls apart rapidly.

Flipmode is correct. It is Fel's pilot ability that grants the second focus token.

The acronym EPT does NOT designate a pilot's card text.

The acronym EPT is used for this kind of upgrade card:

• YES: Push the Limit and Determination are EPTs.
• YES: The Contracted Scout has an EPT slot.
• NO: Fel's EPT gives him a focus token whenever he gets a stress token.
• YES: Fel's ability gives him a focus token whenever he gets a stress token.

The rules refer to that slot and those upgrades with the term "Elite". EPT, or "Elite Pilot Talent" is a holdover from an earlier time when the various upgrade icons hadn't yet been given official English names.

I don't have a problem with the EPT acronym. That's what I generally call them. It just seemed like the OP might have been confused by the casual use of a term that isn't in the glossary.

Can I just check that I understand the sequence of this correctly?

1. Fel Focus's as his normal action

2. Then use PTL to get the free action and stress token

3. Fel's pilot ability kicks in getting him another focus token

4. Next turn green move to get rid of the stress token?
