Fang fighters ferocious or fecal?

By Velvetelvis, in X-Wing

Whats the consensus y'all?

All these threads regarding the dial on the romulan ship and something about a possible upcoming third faction called " rebels" or some such.

But are we pleased with the fancy new backwards scyks?

I think I am ok with it.

Pretty sure.

Loaded with greens, hard 1 turn, three ways to turn around (k and a pair of T). Seems solid

I agree...

Maybe it's not exciting news because...it's just fine

Side note...i think I want to squeeze two of them with maybe manaroo and see how they go.

I'm disappointed with it. The generics are just touch too expensive and if I wanted that dial with PTL, I'd just play Imperials.

I was pretty sure it was going to be my new favorite ship but now I'm not sure if I'll end up putting it on the table.

Post of the Year nominee, here folks.

I like it, but maybe that's because I enjoy the Interceptor dial and the Fang's is very similar.

It should be very analogous to the TIE Interceptor- PTL and Fearless will be EPTs of choice, with the title and whichever mod you feel like rounding it out. Fills a decent 25-35 point slot fo Scum, and will make a good backup for a bunch of ships.

Should that be feral?

paint em brown and they're ferociously fecal

Guess you don't play a-wings too much then huh

Should that be feral?

A little.

But mostly over your head.

Fenn Rau will be fine.

The other aces will be all but toast, barring the occasional appearance of people determined to make Old Terioch work.

The generics? About the same place as the Kithraxz: Precisely one point too many, and that point would've been really useful.

Have to say the dial is a massive disappointment: It's okay balance wise, but even the TAP has a more excitingly unique set. Heck, so does the Scyk!

Did they chicken out during playtesting or something?

If you don't mind my asking, what were you disappointed with aside from the cost of the generics? Even though it's an Imperial type dial it's pretty solid, especially with the T-Rolls

I know that lots of people are all excited to finally have a Scumterceptor but I've got no real interest in one. I was looking forward to having a ship that slams into faces and is hard to shake. Instead we get a minor variation on a ship we've had for years.

With the dial and the cost, I think my Khiraxzs can stop worrying about being replaced.

Fenn Rau is still the best pilot from the whole wave as the dial is just good enough for PTL. It's almost a sure thing that I will get him killed first time I fly him cause he doesn't have the 4-straight green like an interceptor. Thankfully it has the 5-straight. Was hoping for something more creative, like green 1-turns, green 2-banks, and green 3-5 straight. I'm glad the Starviper dial still is unique though.

Old Teroch will show up from time to time.

Generics are all clearly overcosted and almost in the same category as the Kihraxz, Starviper, and Syck.

I am okay with the interceptor like dial. It flies fast.

My concern though is that Interceptor traditionally uses PTL to reposition and arc dodge which makes them very slippery.

With the BMST in vogue, PTL might not be the EPT to take anymore and in terms affect how often they can arc dodge.

Fenn Rau's ability is amazing with the Fang.

Old Teroch's ability is cool but it takes too much to make his ability work.

I feel that once ppl actually gets down to play testing Old Teroch, they will find how different he is from Carnor.

They will just leave him behind and replace him with Concord dawn veteran/ace.

A little to reliant on green die for my liking.

The pricing and dial are great. Ya'll need to reevaluate your lives if you think that ship needed to be cheaper.

Three letters.

First letter M, last letter H.

One vowel.

They are talking about the 20 point generic, which should be 20 points WITH the title. Which sounds about right. With 21 points you end up with 5 points to much.

You like them so much, you're nominating them for a Medal of Honor?

Frankly, Fangs are favourites to flop. Flying forlornly face-first into fights feels faintly frugal.

...and furthermore...

Fangs feel fragile, falling frequently from focused firepower. Fenn fears ficklegreendice.
