Under Siege "Active" deployment point?

By Dobbsy, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

We played Under Siege last night and a question about what's an Active deployment point came up.

When the Red deployment point gets used for the first time does that make it active and therefore new deployments can use it? I played it as yes as the mission text describes a certain "entry to the compound" so it seemed fair but I couldn't find the rule that said new deployments were only to come on in the green point.

Thanks in advance all.

Usually, unless a mission event specifically says a deployment point is Active, the only deployment points you can use are the green ones.

Even if a unit is deployed to a red or yellow deployment point, it isn't "Active" for the purpose of optional deployments unless the mission says it is.

You'll see some missions say "the blue deployment points are now active". If it doesn't, then they aren't, even if the mission had you deploy to one. Often the red or yellow deployment points are only there for the reserve deployments.

Deployment points activate and deactivate only if explicitly said so. A one-time deployment from a mission event does not activate a deployment point.

-- Green deployment points are active at the start of each
mission. Red, blue, and yellow deployment points are not
active until specified by the mission's rules, even if another
rule allows a one-time deployment to any of those points.

Thanks all. Even though I over-used the red point the Rebels still won. If I hadn't used the red it's likely they would have smashed the Imperials. It's beginning to be a trend in our campaign....
