Crew idea for Rey (or other Force-Using Rebel)

Okay! I'm trying to convert some frustration into creativity.

There are alot of RNG (I'm just guessing this means Roll: Not Guaranteed ) actions/pilot abilities coming to light (and collecting dust in your storage solution).

What if Rey (or any other future Rebel , Force-using) crew upgrade had one of these effects:

2 Points:

Unique Rebel only

When not attacking or defending, you may use focus tokens to modify the result of one of your die results.

4 Points:

Unique Rebel only

Once round, when not attacking or defending, you may change one of your dice results to any other result. That dice cannot be modified again.

I want this for Rebel because I like it on:

- YT-1300/2400 with Smuggler Compartment and Slicer Tools

- Braylen Stram (who, frankly, without this is DOA)

- Revives Saboteur for the Rebels - but only on ships that have 2 crew upgrade slots

Is it broken?

- Asteroids =/= threatening

- Debris/cone of garbage can only give stress

- Lando crew may see too much play (especially with the HotR incoming)

- Ion Projector/Anti-Pursuit Lasers would be useful for once...

I'm tired of brainstorming and have to get back to work. Tear this idea apart, please.

RNG = random number generator.

I would specifiy the situations these cards activate. Your/their: Astroid, debri, mines, damage cards, crew effects, pilot abilties...

Ie: unique 1point crew

When an enemy within range 3 rolls one or more attack die for overlaping an obsticle or (bomb) you may spend focus to change the (eye) results to a (hit).

Unique astromech 1 point

You may treat all (eye) results as hit or evade results when rolling the effects of a damage card. If you do Skip your action step.

Understood. Although, my idea was that the crew works for all of those things you have examples of; I.e. when not attacking or defending.

But I do like the range idea for a support ship.

No! Rebels don't need more support ships, they need hard hitting meta-relevant Aces.

i actually wouldnt doubt since the picture of Rey is her on her little speeder thingie on Tatooine that its either going to be illicit related or salvage related. Would be cool if she stole an upgrade off a ship you killed (weapon, mod, ordnance, sensor, or tech)

Yeah - I've heard these ideas. The art lends itself to that idea, so I'm hoping in another expansion we see some force-user giving the Rebels an ability similar to Palp. It works, and despite some idealogies that Rebels don't need what the Imperials use, I want to see Rebels take the meta back. Not sure why. Just do. I think this would a step in that direction.

Disclaimer: I don't play Rebels. Imp and Scum, pretty much exclusively.

well the other reason i doubt a force-related ability is Rey is untrained, which is one of the major complaints i have about that movie. She went from not even having a clue she was force sensitive to suddenly overpowering Kylo Ren, which even if he was having a spoiled-brat-hissyfit that should NOT have happened that quickly. She has no control over her powers yet, she just happened to somehow shrug off Kylo's force powers even tho moments before that fight he threw her aside with no effort.

And lord help us if they give us a card depicting her untrained force powers.

I liked that you were leaving it open to any use, but your wording was just unclear to me. Also you need a focus which makes some useshard to do on your own ship.

Roll not guarenteed is a great acronym or band name.

I like both these ideas. However, I would add "Once per round ..." to the beginning of the text.

Also, on the 2 point version:

Very rarely would you see this used going through an asteroid, unless you are in the "Moldy Crow" or have some other way of getting a focus.
I don't see the point in wasting a focus with Lando, unless you really want an evade.

I just see the 2 point version much more handicapped. Which is a good thing.



What if only the 4 point version was "Once per round"?

honestly i dont care what she does but i hope shes 1-2pts. Rebel and Imps are severely lacking in the cheap and pretty dependable crew while scum are full of them. Theres a couple, but most of them are 3+ (not counting palp hes in his own league)
