The Dials are In

By Rinzler in a Tie, in X-Wing

all it means is more practice to get good at it.

not quite

it doesn't matter how much you practice, it won't change the fact that bumping or landing on obstacles will deny your actions

which gives your opponent the ability to limit your maneuver options with his own positioning (as well as the positioning of obstacles, which is controlled by both players)

the phantom is FAR easier to decloak with because, again, 1/4th the base size

HM.

Black Market Slicer Tools, the luck based Feedback Array on PTL ships.... That's a tough one. For 1 point I might consider.

The Gyroscopics is basically a title that allows you to fly a PWT but I think my go to will be the tractor beam token title.

You can do both. Gyro is a Mod.

Don't know why most of the hurt about the ARC dial.

I'd say it's better than the B-Wing dial, considering the ARC was billed as a slow ship before it was revealed.

Didnt say it would be a walk in the park to figure out lol

The gyro also isn't quite a PWT. It triggers at the end of the Combat phase, so you still need to make sure that your turret is pointing in the right direction at the start of the phase. The mod only helps you to set up your next turn.

And since its not even a free action (it just says you may rotate the arc) you can do it even if you are stressed or already did the action earlier.

The requirement for a little extra forethought is a minor price to pay for that imo.

All of this looks awesome. The hype is real!

Unspoiled cards: 49s0Fgt.jpg

Gyroscopic Targeting: at the end of the combat phase, if you performed a 3,4,5 speed maneuver, you may rotate your mobile firing arc.

Black Market Slicer Tools: Action - choose a stressed ship at r1-2. Remove 1 stress token & roll 1 atk dice. on a [hit] or [crit] result, deal one face-down damage card.

Maybe paragoombah will stop complaining about Fell now. Lol.

Folks are so caught up on dials that nobody noticed the rules for Cargo tokens: when dropped on an enemy ship, they resolve immediately .

THAT is going to hurt ace-wing more than almost anything.

Was the token dropped in such a way that your template will overlap it when you activate? Take one stress now, and take another one when you leave.

Are you not an ace, but you had a red maneuver queued up and Hera isn't your co-pilot? Take a stress, and hope you have enough room to avoid flying off the edge next turn.

Are you an unlucky ace who took the Damaged Engine crit from the cargo token on a turn when you had a hard turn queued up? I have some bad news for you. You're flying off the map now.

Not to mention you are going to be vulnerable to the Slicer Tool as well ..

and rebel regen

slicers go right through shields

also go right through palpatine, because YOU (not your opponent) get to roll the die

ARC-170, I need confirmation that this is the dial (the image gives me slight doubts)

1: green banks, green straight

2: white turns, green banks, green straight

3: red turns, white banks, white straight

4 red straight, red k-turn

This is what I see, based on the interpretation that only the bright whites are actually whites,

and the rest are blurred greens.

i kinda feel like the whole "illegal move while stressed" thing needs to change. Theres a lot of ways to give stress AFTER assigning a red move but before revealing it. If you werent stressed at the start of the turn you should just be able to do the move anyway and take an extra stress.

If you land a debris cloud on a tie fighter that was doing a 3/4k, he takes a stress before he reveals his dial, which makes his move illegal. Oh look board edge...

That really needs to change....

Okay, the Fang and the ARC are about as expected.

The Shadow Caster , however, is not. The actual **** is that!? They got it and the TIE/sf switched in production somewhere, surely...

I know FFG said it would have a dial like the TIE/fo but I was hoping it would be a bit more like other Scum dials and less almost exactly the TIE/fo dial with T-Rolls instead of S-Loops.

It looks like you only remove the stress token if a hit or crit is rolled.

This looks like the actual text on the card:

Action: Choose a stressed enemy ship at Range 1-2 and roll 1 attack die. On a [HIT] or [CRIT] result, remove 1 stress token and deal 1 facedown damage card.

that is one way, i didnt specify all of them. You can also cause a crit that gives stress, which was the more common one but since it was still rare there wasnt a need to change the rule.

Now theres a way that you can intentionally do that, if you land it and not put it on their nose, WILL stress them out, the rule needs to be tweaked. There are going to be a lot of frustraited people because that happened and they were given a 3hard off the board.

except in the model department

because rebels take that no question :)

Yes ... I love the look of the ARC-170! It reminds me of my favorite WWII plane, the P-61 Blackwidow.

Ugh, I'm getting a crick in my neck.

The only way to inflict crit after dials were placed but before the ship actually activated was to either use Saboteur, which required a lot of setup, or to use Oicunn on a ship that was already suffering from a Major Hull Breach.

Ugh, I'm getting a crick in my neck.

it does feel like it's been TEN THOUSAND YEARS

Which is why i said it was rare as hell but it CAN happen.

Now its more guaranteed.
