Any ideas for a good list with one punisher?
Looking for a good list involving a punisher.
I tried RedLine; enhanced scopes, long range scanners, concussion missles,conner net and extra munitions (41) a Deathfire; extra munitions, long range scanners, conner net extra munitions (30) b Ps2 bomber; extra munitions, long range scanners, conner net and concusion missles (29) c It was fun to drop four target locks on someone first turn, but i flew badly and lost. I thought about tinkering with the list you could sub out redline for death rain get rid of enhanced scopes and have a siesmic bomb or sub in (Vessery, ion cannon, ruthlessness (41))
You can make an "ok" list using a Punisher, or you can make a slightly better list by doing the same thing, but with a much cheaper Bomber. Both ships will explode, but one of them will cost less.
Agreed. A Punisher is basically a more expensive bomber with shields, more munitions slots that you're not going to use, and no EPT. But it's got a boost action!
No really, I don't get why people try to play the Punisher. With how expensive ordinance is, all those extra slots are just useless. I haven't found anything a non-named Punisher can do that a cheaper, higher pilot skill, EPT having Gamma Squad Vet can't do better.
Black Eight w/ proton torpedo & guidance chips = 27 points
Tough enough that it is very unlikely he can be killed before firing his torpedo (not so for a shieldless bomber). If you have points to spare, you can fit on extra munitions since he has a better chance of firing two torpedoes than a regular, shieldless bomber. If you are only running a single bomber, then this is the build I recommend.
Unfortunately, Redline has been relegated to the shelf due to the recent FAQ changes to FCS + cluster missile interaction.
Deathrain is also kind of not worth running simply because Deathfire can do almost as good with bombs but for much cheaper.
Having said that, in a casual environment, this build is quite decent:
Deathrain w/ advanced sensors, conner net, seismics & extra munitions = 37
Lots of tricks up his sleeve like using the seismic for some surprise bonus mobility and using the advanced sensors to tag someone with a conner net when they thought they were safe.

No joke, this list won me a store championship
Note this was prescouts but post palp. In fact, this list was MADE to kill palp which had won the last 3 consequetive championships
But it also happily devoured all the copy paste brobots and even rebel Regen spam
Conners are too **** awesome esp when they're so easy to death rain out
Acc corrector was for TLTs (just to chip low agi; use higher ps boost to dodge them); can be replaced at
Long range scanners with a missile or flechettes are an idea
The generic punishers are almost always inferior to TIE bombers, and the gamma vets in particular. The named pilots, on the other hand, are definitely usable in the right list - Redline's damage output and consistency rivals Uboats, and Deathrain + Connor Nets is a fantastic control piece.

Deathrain is the only pilot that's made me forget and despise the fact that you can only drop one bomb per turn

enhanced scopes makes sure deathrain drops his bombs wherever he wants and the defenders are just good
I flew HLC vess, OL, Redline for 2nd at a FLGS tourney just a tad before imp vets.
Did good with Echo, Redline, Bomber. Beat a double uboat and party bus list with losing a ship.
Also f'd up a triple aces list with Redline, OL, Vessery. Redline makes for a great blocker with boost against aces.
I keep redline really cheap with just plasma, EM, and chips. His ability is great for plasmas and eliminates uboats shields and party bus shields. Then bomber had protons to get the crit through.
Havent flown redline since imp vets, but im going to try whisper, redline, and gamma sqd vet with deadeye.
A plus with redline is his 9 hp. Keeeps him alive longer than a bomber, letting him get a second missile off.
