Mate, get that up on photobucket and post your own paint thread, more peeps need to see this

Hello all, been a mad few months, but finally had some time to set up a few extra bits of scenery this last week, while I wait for Wave 5 to get here (the ordering of some Imperial Assault and Firestorm Armada ships for my birthday in between
Finally set a date to play my homebrew Armada campaign with my crew on the 28th (while we all have time off and can organise!) so I've been busy trying to finish the cards, sheets and extra scenery needed. Today I finished off the two extra station models I need. These two will also nicely double for the incoming new CC station tokens. Decided to try and take more steps photos this time
After action report on how the campaign goes will be posted as and when we managed to get through it. All looking forward to playing (winging it as we go).

Those are excellent models............well thought out and definitely have the imperial look to them. Angular, modular design that could be repurposed for any number of reasons. I like them
Those are amazing, great work!
Any chance you're interested in creating a basic how-to guide for making them? Even if it's just materials and dimensions.
Nice job!
Yeah sure, I'll try and get up some semblance of a guide at some point when I get the chance
So, I've finally (i know I say that a lot, stupid real life commitments!) scheduled a playtest of my homebrew campaign I've been working on. Seeing as my friends and I all have time off over xmas, were hope to hit the first few missions on the 28th.
I had paused development of this after hearing about Corellian Campaign, and waited to see what they might be bringing in before continuing, but that looks like it will follow more or less the standard play format. Mine is , well... wildly different, so its all gonna be a bit... "playtesty?"

Rebel Campaign, Part 1
Originally I had the player team hopping from rebel to empire per mission. This was to give them all a good go on all the different toys, but they have all played a lot of games with me now and have had that opportunity to play both sides ships, so I've shifted focus to two separate campaigns.
Starting with Rebel, (and then empire down the line as an "alternative timeline" or something, not sure yet) I have gone back and rewritten a lot of it somewhat, again, with a lot of guesswork, playing out scenarios in my head and vassal (which has been a great tool to plan it all out), and intend to run my friends through a full Rebel campaign.
I have about 4 missions ready to go (I intend to aim for 8-10 in total for each campaign), part one this xmas, part 2.. well, when I get the time to write it!!! All through it, we will be aware some things may not work etc, but I have used educated guesses on what possibly will work and to in general , make it a fun experience for the guys while getting to use all my lovely Armada goodies (and a few other elements from different systems to add to the RPG nature of it all).
Overall, Its designed to be a 3 vs 1 DM'd RPG, so we can all nerd out, and let my friends get a kick out of leading a rebel fleet into an unknown situation in a mysterious sector of space, I've introduced the Armada system into a lot of different scenarios, and mission set-ups, which may or may not run smoothly, so I'm trying to hedge my bets / predict possible problems etc, but yeah, we'll see how it goes!
I hope to document and post what I can, when I can, of our experience playing it, but I hope it will be a great fun RPG they all enjoy. I'll post updated mission set ups, ship/hero squadron and kill sheets that will be used (again I may need to tweak as I go (last night in particular finding me have a few brainstorms on a few elements that I didn't see before!).
Updates will likely either be here or in a separate Mod thread. I intend to share it to all who would like to give it a go (as and when I get the time to write and develop), this is the first time I've ever attempted something like this, but a) i thought it would be cool and b) pewpewpewpew.
Fingers crossed! May the force be with me
They delay in part 2 may even work out well, as I get to write in all my wave 5 goodies, that hopefully (I'm told it posted out to me today), arrive this week
Campaign elements ready to go, and I found an old Tin from last xmas to put it in. Plus Wave 5 arrived this morning. Sweet! Nerdmas is On!
Love the combination of the Jedi winged lightsaber and starbird symbols... pretty awesome.
I can't claim design on that one, i just found it quickly on a google search as a last minute edition (I was running on fumes last night by the end of it, so had to cut corners
Well like me..............we now have time to paint more ships...................must paint more squadrons........................I received my stuff today as well...............Oh Santa was really nice to me..............., and a second set is coming by mail after Christmas.......I can feel the urge again.
I just blasted out a few Imp 2 squads, will post up tomorrow. (picked up Imperial assault lately as well, so much painting to do! haha
Blasted through my phantoms and defenders (which weren't as bad as I feared, managed to get through those panels quickly with a decent small flat brush.) But I may go back and some additional finishing touches. As I'm feeling inspired after finishing off the Lambda Shuttles... (finally decided to try some engine glow drybrushing this round
Do yourself a huge favor: paint your bases black, and touch up the cardboard in black.
It makes your fine painting pop like Alderaan on a death star drive by.
Nice, I make sure to hit the sides with a marker, but yeah, I've yet to decide on painting black bases so far. Maybe in future, too much other stuff to paint first ha
Had some time yesterday eve and this afternoon to finally switch off, relax and while I was at it, paint my sweet new tiny spaceships.
Didn't get the chance to shoot them with my star background (as I missed the light for today). Will do a proper one soon, but wanted to put up my Imperial squads.
I may go back to the phantoms and defenders to add some highlights (also, not sure how I want to mark Maarek Steele yet), but for now, want to crack on with Rebels at some point!
Nice work! Sure wish my FLGS had received their shipment.
Managed to catch the light in the kitchen to snap my painted Wave 5 so far. Bit contrasty, but wanna get on painting some more (and maybe get back a few Imperial Assault fig - which I hope to post up soonish).
Imperials:
(Still working out how I want to mark the hero defender squad)
Rebels:
Yesterday I had a pop at Ghosts and some E-wings
(both quite enjoyable to paint, and decided to push the E-wings a bit further this round and add some highlights:
So! Homebrew campaign went well!
The guys really enjoyed it, and my guestimations more or less played out well (plus my hesitation detterents - such as sudden ISD patrol fleets jumping in to get slow play moving along worked a treat muhaha).
We played mission 1-3 and had to call it before 4 (as it was 1 am! haha). Hope to put up the pics, updates and materials soon as I can, looking forward to playing part 2 when I can.
Also, up soon will be my Z95's and final bits of wave 5 (I've been a bit distracted painting through my Imperial Assault core set!)
Glad the homebrew went well!
Have you picked up CC yet to compare/contrast the direction FFG took the idea of a campaign?
Was great fun. Yep, I picked up one of each wave 5 and the campaign, love some of the elements introduced, but yes, I went with a more Hero RPG approach and going crazy with some of the rules.
Can't wait to try CC properly as well though. But also currently painting my way through the Imperial Assault core set I treated myself for my bday, + building some props, ready to play some of that soon with my group.
Haven't even had a chance to try Wave 5 out properly yet either! My mates and I hope to battle in next couple of weeks. So much gaming, not enough time ha!
Starting soon on three sets of wave five, minus the campaign game, I just have one box of that. Plus a whole mess of dreadnaughts and carriers to do. I also have 12 TIE Punishers to paint. I also purchased the 3.2 km M-80 Home 1. I have enough ships now for the Corellion Campaign

Don't worry, I'm still very enamored with Armada, plenty of stuff inbound:
My Z-95s are done (pics soon),
Still got the Lancers to go
and I'll b
e attacking my Arquitens (yes, I bought another) with my fleet scheme soon as I can.
Plus first couple of wave 5 games next week.
That plus some battle-reps / narrative updates on the homebrew campaign playthrough.
So much Star Wars hobbying, never enough time! loving it
