VERY nice.

Those look great and some of those lines make me wonder just how big of a magnifying glass you are using! haha

Very nicely done! Gorgeous!

VERY nice.

Thanks, I actually didn't use one, but the annoying thing is, I know I have one somewhere, I just can't for the life of me find it! (it's buried in a box somewhere after more than a decade of non-use).

Okay now you have got me going :) I am now trying to figure out how to post stuff on the site............ I have my Imperial fleet almost ready to display........ When family like does not get in the way for at least an hour:)

Absolute easiest way:

Upload them to Photobucket.

View the image there.

Find the link on the side that has [ IMG ]

Just click that link (it'll add to Clipboard) and then Paste it into the page.

Yep, what Dras said, just got a set up a photobucket account if you ain't got one, but its free and quick to set up :)

I've no more squads to paint. So currently going through my Imperial fleet adding white lights to the star destroyers (fiddly, but worth it), and slowly wondering about adding some markings with colour ...

I now have 3 liberty, 2 interdictors, a 1 of each flotilla...................... my training is now complete .................All I need is a worthy admiral and rebel scum to beat. My imperial fleet is now ready to spread fear and lothing around the galaxy..................BUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....................urk cough cough .................drat foiled by my breathing mask..............

As Monty Python would say..............................Àlways look on the dark side of life...............fe fu fe fu fa fa fe fah............Àlways look on the dark side of life...............

Nice! Got some flotillas on the way (after having to re-order! another several week wait with no set date?... i'llllll go somewhere else thanks!), so will definitely be marking them up and doing the fighter stand convoy trick. That looks brilliant, and I have the spare TIEs!

Personally I can't wait to get my hands on those sweet wave 5 squadrons.

Fleetwise, I'm considering just a basic marking scheme, black and yellow somewhere on the ship. I've mocked up Demo in PS below as I guide for me, something quick and simple to mark them out, just hesitant to screw up more on the big ships. Will have to tape up or find good match for base, I'm not in the mood to re-prime and paint everything from scratch ha!

I have kids and school ,so just enough time to paint a few squadrons here or there. How is your campaign going??BTW like the black knight cartoon.

Monty Python still is my favorite program. I have huge fleets for both sides, buy won't pain t them.........no time

Yep, stupid adulting stuff always gets in the way ha!

Still working on it, we had to reschedule our playtest, but hoping to hit the first 3 missions with my crew next month. Plus I'm also keen to see how FFG introduce their campaign rules (weirdly my version of a Rogue upgrade for the campaign is pretty **** spot on to the upcoming special skill of Hera Syndulla squad in Wave 5).

Plus I totally want to write Indicators and Flotillas into it now :D

I have close to at least 3000 points of ships per side just wish I had a FTF opponent right now, that likes long and big games.

Nice, my collection has grown far beyond what I originally planned!

Ah man, I feel your pain, very little Armada played close to home, but guess I should count myself lucky to have a week/biweekly opponent who I've got into the game, (he joined the darkside, although I still bought all the stuff ha!) and the occasional big game when me and the crew get the chance, and I'm slowly hooking more and more of my friends in muhahaha. (They like it, but I have to drag them away from 40k to play).

Did manage to sign up for a localish (two towns over) 8 player tourney for next week, looking forward to that, although it does mean a 7am train to get to a FLGS in a town I've never been to! But will definitely keep getting involved. Played my first ever anything tourney back in June, was awesome to play Armada all day with new opponents.

I am thinking of a campaign myself but will be more story driven, starts after the destruction of the second death star. It will take place during the break up of the Empire when warlords started to claim former regions of the galaxy. This will allow a lot more leeway for a story line.

Look what arrived at work today :D

Gonna add some markings this weekend hopefully

I finally have got the time to put together mu 3 Liberty MC 80 and the 2 Interdictor.................nice models. I put together the Gozanti flotilla. And will do the same thing you did with both the Gozanti, and Rebel transport flotilla, they both need escorting fighters :) Just wish i could model a good repair installation and base for the fleets. TIME TIME TIME................arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wish I could get a time slowing device so I could slow time and game and model without real life invading my nirvana.....................sigh

I know right, that would be sweet haha. Gonna paint up my second Assault frigate tonight, thinking dark blue panels where the red are now, and a few other places, and picked up a size 00000 brush to speed up the window painting process :)

Yes, on my "to do" list is a couple of fighter factory / repair bays for the campaign. (One mission will involve a squadron only bombing run mission, I'm thinking each player has a 3 squad activation per turn).

I loved building my station, but it took ages making it from all balsa carved parts, so to speed things up, I hit the local £1 shops and looked for things I could use as uniform bases (like the car fuses for the AA turrets). I found a couple of small novelty paperclip dispensers (the paper clips were dog shaped?!) so will build around these, also picked up a knock of lego kit of an orca whale, as it had lots of flats and curved bricks I thought I could layer up with some acrylic slices.

But yes, so far painting other ships and stupid adulting stuff like that lame work c**p had been getting in the way :D

Enjoy the ships dude, they look awesome, I'm thinking red energy sections on the Interdictor is next behind the whale and then I may finally begin marking up the Imperials with my catching-on Black and yellow scheme :D

I have left all my ships relatively unpainted................Just did not want to risk messing them up.............They are expensive here in Canada. Same reason I will not put lights ijn them as well. My luck the model will break and I am out $50. I am now on a very limited budget so I don't have money tt blow on replacing a model I ruined with a bad paint job.

Grab a bottle of Simple Green from Canadian Tire when you've got a couple of spare bucks.... When, and if, I guess :)

The best thing is, you can paint them all you want with Acrylics... But if you mess it up, Simple Green is Gentle enough that it'll strip them back to the ORIGINAL FFG PAINTJOB, and not all the way to bare plastic :D

No totally, I understand the hesitance, I don't wanna screw my ships up either ha. But I think painting my squadrons had helped me regain my flow and enjoyment with painting minis. I picked up some modelling tape , the missus is out tonight, so i'm gonna finally attack some of the bigger ships with some paint. Like I've mentioned before I haven't really got time to rebase and go again, so I'm building on top of the pre-paint.

Got an idea for a simple emblem for the Demolisher as well and I'm even considering roughing him up with some scarring and carbon burns, I chose the dirtier of the two gladiators I have to paint up.

But first the second whale, cover the red, add some extra panels and lines with dark blue.

Right then *cracks knuckles* Game on...

photo1_zpsupu19tax.jpg

Finshed the Whale. weathered it up in places with the side of a scalpel, added a small emblem with the aid of some tape, then washed it all a bit of a watered down nuln oil to get it nice and dirty. A couple of rough bits here and there, which i will touch up at some point, and also I think I'll add some scarring and turbolaser damage...

Some better photos of this, my corvettes and a nebulon and demo (which I plan to do tomorrow after noon, looking forward to that one, had thoughts on a nice simple emblem for it as well.

The paint job looks wonderful but I hate to say you placed the tail wings back on upside down. Also how did you take off the wings to begin with?

I was going to say...........the little white flashes sorta look like the Nike insignia for shoes...................so why did you not paint the AF MKII red...........cuz we all know red ones go fasta............... :P

Ha! The tail is intentional. Saw a few other examples of it, and thought it looked cool :D
