ok well sought of..... any one know how to print decals so I can put an Idiots Array on my fire spray
Sabacc .....
Check your local hobby shop for decal paper or try Mico Mark (micromark.com). They carry both ink-jet and laser paper. If using an ink-jet you'll need to spray a clear coat to seal the ink.
Just saw you're in Germany. Trying to remember manufacturer's name on my sheets with no luck. If you do a search for "Bare Metal Foil" I think they sell decal sheets with their brand. You might find a dealer near you.
Awile back, I think Fine Scale Modeler ran an article on how to make your own decal paper. I don't remember if it was suitable to run through a printer but it worked for hand-drawn art work.
Edited by StonefaceI'm in Germany and have asked around but not had a lot of success. So I guess I'm going to have to order online
I've got mine from Amazon [uK] - not sure what the shipping would be to Germany, if Amazon [DE?] don't offer any...
...also, if you go for the inkjet paper, I've found that you can get away with using brushed-on matt acrylic to seal if you don't want to get an aerosol for just a few pieces - the ink does smudge a bit, but it doesn't notice too much unless you've got large areas of white. If you're using them over anything but the lightest of backgrounds, I'd suggest the white rather than transparent decals, but you then have to cut them out carefully, so 'ragged' edges can be a problem.
Cheers
