29 points 1 ship.......

By shotbyscott, in X-Wing

Couple of ideas, although the Inquisitor is probably my fav (noting that I'm an imperial player only):

1 - Tie Prototype Inquisitor with VI, TIE/v1 title and autothrusters <-- PS10 29pt ship that is survivable.

2 - Tie Bomber Tomax Bren with Crackshot, Extra Munitions, Fletchette torps, Guidence Chips <-- not the best survivor but fun.

3 - Tie Interceptor Royal Guard Pilot with VI, Royal Guard Title, Autothrusters, Stealth Device <-- this has 1 point remaining, so you could change VI to Juke, or Elusiveness or other 1/2 point epts.

Sounds like a fun concept. How many people play in a single game?

Last time 10 played .... time before that 14 time before that 12.

29 point is a great number as 30+ things can get over powered quickly

All on the table at the same time?

Yeah, my first guess of Omega Leader is a REALLY bad plan.

The answer should be Adaptabilty Mauler Mithel and Academy, but for some reason you wanted only one ship

Because every on can only fly 1 ship in the game

its a double sized play mat with lost of asteroids and stuff

Nonetheless, the guy who wants to be one on one and dies ignominiously when ganged up on REALLY doesn't want to be in a format where there are dozens of other ships flying around.

How do you work initiative with that many people?

pilot skill then age.... the oldest must take the ini

its lots of laughs but my friends hate me .... hit them with an ion turret and then next turn every one goes after them as they know exactly where they will be. or i drop cluster mines in the centre of the mat

Another Bomber: Deathfire with extra munitions, fletchette torp, concussion missiles, cluster mines, long range scanners. <-- not very survivable perhaps, but still packs a punch and can drop mines and fire ordinance in the same turn.

Is it always last man standing wins? Have you considered a simple point system for each kill, highest point total wins?

I'm curious what specific thing this format is trying to prevent people from using by being exactly 29 points instead of 30.

Has anyone tried just Miranda Doni. No upgrades, straight 29 points. PWT, regenerator

keep the ideas rolling.... I'm looking for something a bit out there, "the surprise factor"

Take Roark and be the kingmaker. Then at the end, perform a proper backstab.

Well it all started off when a friend was 29 on the 29th so we played 29 points all in. latter tried higher points but it was just to powerful and not as much fun.... and now its becoming a semi regular thing

Omega Leader Juke Comm Stealth all day every day.

Unless you're playing with inexperienced players, you're going to get focus fired by the entire table and killed off whenever you bring standard build OL.

I would have fun with this,

Tycho Celchu — A-Wing 26
Push the Limit 3 / Chardaan Refit -2 / Rage 1 / A-Wing Test Pilot 0
Ship Total: 28

Take Every Action each turn, and there is a ton of green on that dial :-) (only k turns are red)

Boost, Evade, Focus with 3 rerolls each turn no draw backs. I smell cheese.

I got two great options that no one would ever think of!

Gand Findsman

Wired

Zuckuss

Inertial Dampeners

Mist Hunter (Tractor beam)

29 total

Or

Ruthless Freelancer

gonk

Experimental Interface

Mist Hunter (Tractor beam)

29 total

First option dont even worry about stress just troll with Zuckuss crew. Secound option just Gonk it up!

What about a G-1A Ruthless Freelancer with title, TB, Gonk, and SD.

Sabine Wren — Attack Shuttle 21

Push the Limit 3

Autoblaster Turret 2

Kyle Katarn 3

Ship Total: 29

Reveal green move, Boost in an optimal direction, PTL to BR, evade or TL, get stressed, clear stress with green move and get a Kyle focus, then do you regular action.

Much fun for 29 points.

Scout with Zuckuss, Wired, Stim?

Torkil Mux

Dorsal Turret

outlaw tech

Cloaking Device

Moldy Crow title

29 pts

no one will want to be near you.

Fenn Rau with Fearlessness. Soon, Fenn, Soon.

Kavil (24)

Rage (1)

Dorsal Turret (3)

Unhinged Astromech (1)

Total: 29

Scout w/Overclocked, 4Lom, Feedback and adaptability.

Naked YV

It also seems like Drea would be really great in this format bc she should be able to always grab a TL. It would be fun to run her with title, dorsal turret, and R5P8 or you could go unhinged, plasmas and GC.

I love Psycho Tycho

If you are going Tycho, I suggest:

Rage 1/ Chardaan Refit -2/ Test Pilot 0/ Experimental Interface 3/ Veterans Instincts 1

For a total of 29 points

This way you still have the action economy at Pilot Skill 10. For 29 points he is a pretty good ace.

Howlrunner, stealth device , expert handling, make friends.

It is a free-for-all right?

Yeah, Rage/EI/VI is better than PTL/Rage. I went to PTL/Rage because ATs would round it out but they're a point too expensive.

OR Rage/EI/Crack, or Rage/EI/Cool Hand for that first-engagement extra bit of evasion.
