Some competitive list help! Poe? Wave1-5?

By Blail Blerg, in X-Wing

Yeah. Its like I'm back at 60 posts instead of 6000 right?

Okay, so I have a friend who wants to play more and they have up to wave5. He'll be buying minimal additions from new stuff but I can supply some cards. (He also wants Poe and Imp Vets for sure.)

Here's what I'm looking for in a list:

1. Tier1 hyper-competitive power level or Tier 1.2 nearly-hyper competitive power lists

2. Preferably ships be from Wave5 + Poe + Imp Vets. (Some extra cards ok.)

3. Preferably easy to fly for players who don't practice that much.

4. Include some words about why your list is good plz, it helps me see how you think about it.

I have a good time flying my Palp Aces. I'm basically always the highest PS, which helps reduce changes in movement order during a long tournament. Having the Same PS, is another cool trick to help.

Here's my opinion on the meta to beat:

1. Random junk some dude brings to the store. Suboptimal aces, etc.

2. 3 Scouts with Plasma and Feedback Array

3. Dengaroo

4. Palp Aces

5. Defenders

Is TLT safe to bring back? Is the world champ list without R3-A2 strong? I don't think he wants to be thinking about the R3-A2 ship. Also, I've gotten very little use out of it.

Rebel

1. Poe, R5P9, VI, AT + Jake with prockets & VI + Kyle +TLT + rec spec - poe & jake & kyle synergy

2. Tycho, Jake (PTL, prockets, VI, AT) + wes janson (r3a2, VI, IA)

3. Biggs (R4D6,IA), bandit z95, Blue sq novice T70 (r3a2,IA) and Red ace (r2d2, comm relay, IA)

Imperial

1. Whisper (VI, FCS, ACD), Soontir (PTL, AT), Carnor Jax (VI, AT)

2. Chiraneu (Pred, Gunner, Vader, EU), Whisper (VI, FCS, ACD)

3. Whisper (VI, FCS, ACD, Int Agent), Howl (Swarm tactics, Hull), 3x Academy Pilot

These actually look pretty good.

Does that Whisper Soontir Carnor build really work? I feel like Carnor will eat it.

How do you get the most value out the 4 ties in the whisper list? I have trouble getting it to work with only 3 + Howl.

I've seen some play with PS 10 carnor, and he's more arc dodger than real ace. His goal is to stay alive and be annoying, and let whisper be whisper. He will probably die in 2-3 rounds, but the greatest threat should be gone by then, and whisper and sontir are late game monsters.

4 ties and and ace is a typical roster. There are also swarms with soontir or vader. Ideally they should be blacks with crack shots, but these are expensive. This is powerfull list especially against low agility ships such as decimators and ghosts/falcons and even jumps. But against dengaroo, you need to block or be at range 1 or put whisper to serious work.
