Rigged Cargo Chute

By balindamood, in X-Wing

Did anyone else notice that the card does not say to flip it down after you dump the debris? Does this mean I can dump junk all over the mat if I can get my hands on more debris?

It does say to discard the card.

Nope definitely doesn't say to flip it. But discarding it causes you to flip it...so...

You didn't seriously think that FFG would let something like that slip, right? I can see it now, return of super nasty dash the trash man, dumping his load on every corner of the playmat.

Isn't there a "Jabba" card in the current custom card league that allows 'double use' of discard illicits ? So, on the Shadowcaster you could drop 4...at least, in Vassal

...oh, and similarly, a "Torpedo Loadout" missile card, so you could fit Seismic Torps on ships only having missiles

That just sounds so nasty on so many different levels

If you're dealing with custom cards then anything is possible.

Of course when something like this is designed it shouldn't need to consider everyone's home made cards and how those could abuse the new upgrade option. Both of what you mention there have no bearing on how the RCC work and should be thrown out immediately as the frauds they are.

Was just pointing it out for anyone in the Custom Card League that looked at the thread...I don't use Vassal myself.

Maybe what this forum needs is a way to identify Tournament vs Casual [or either] posts, so you can chose to "Ignore" those that you don't regard as relevant to your playstyle

I'm afraid you should go one more step. Tournament, Casual, and then what you are looking at which is really Homebrew.

When I think of the difference between Casual and Tournament it is NOT about the rules used as both likely follow the exact same rules but perhaps the game format and just how seriously things get taken. In many ways I see Casual as being just like Tournament but with a little more format variety and no where near as much attitude about building the best squadrons that will completely destroy all opposition. Throwing out the rulebook is a far bigger change in things than tournament vs. casual.

Seperate subforums?

At any rate I keep reading the title of he card as 'Ribbed Cargo Chute'. For his pleasure I guess.

One problem with separate forums as mentioned is missing out on some good rants by PGS on turrets and acewings.

I certainly hope no one is suggesting that they break things down into separate forums. Now maybe a homebrew subform would work but that's because it would/should contain stuff that is outside of the games rules even if it is supposedly the same game. The big problem with houserules/homebrew is that when you talk about them on a forum focused on the ACTUAL rules they can make things so confusing; I've seen a lot of that on various RPG forums over the years where someone is asking about something but only starts mentioning all of the houserules that change the game into something that only keeps a passing resemblance to the parent game.
