Darfts even possable?

By shock, in Star Wars: Destiny

I envision 'draft packs' coming with neutral characters, or 3 fixed characters, red, yellow, blue a hero version and a villain version. But that likely wouldn't be part of the 'Awakenings' cycle, likely part of an expansion?

5 cards / booster is a problem for one-off drafting, but what about an Escalation Draft League? Bring your starter to the store, and purchase 5 boosters initially.

Create your deck from that, and play.

Each following week you purchase 2 additional boosters -- and you are able to swap out cards / dice from those pulls as well as your initial assortment.

See who has the most victories after 4 or 6 weeks. Sound feasible to anyone?

We did that for WoW TCG way back when. It's fesible, but requires a) that everyone is 100% honest 100% of the time, or b) a LOT of book keeping by the organizer.

You could also -- and I'm not sure I like this -- but you could also have the store or the TO hold onto all the decks for the duration of the league, so you only have access to it on league day. Not ideal, but it's another way to avoid cheating. But if someone wants to cheat, they'll find a way no matter what.

I think this is necessary. The biggest issue in the way of drafting just boosters is you could open X number of packs and get no characters. Each booster contains 1 card that uses a dice, but that card may or may not be a character

I was going to say this seems unlikely, but they I counted and I'm thinking we're around 45/67 dice aren't characters, Though when you take out the Starter only you're left closer to 40/60. Still not great odds that you're guaranteed a character.

Because you have a point buy mechanic for your starting characters, you would probably be allowed to use an characters you already own or open in the packs. One of the functions of the point buy is enforce a certain level of equity between deck. I may have Vader, but I paid 21 points for those 2 dice. No a lot of room for support after that. Your actions deck is mostly what the draft will be about. Otherwise you end up with insane variance.

In WoW TCG, you could choose any Hero that appeared in any of the sets being drafted, you were not limited to play with the Heros you opened. Could be the same here: Bring your own Characters, then decide which ones to play after the draft phase is over, when you're building your deck.

I just hope that they come up with Draft rules real soon, it's the only thing I miss in LCGs.
