A shadow looms over x wing...

By FourDogsInaHorseSuit, in X-Wing

And it's cast by today's preview, the fourth ship of wave IX! Who's excited?

Does an Ewok blink?

Yup.

Also the shadow of GenCon this weekend. I wonder if we can expect anything big from that, maybe even early release...

Does an Ewok blink?

I just snorted into my soup.

Does an Ewok blink?

Yub.

This instantly took me back to childhood, Well done!

I had gotten the feeling no one was feeling the Shadowcaster. Glad it's picked up steam.

well, it's ugly as sin, unless you're a fan of pancakes, but it's the most mechanically interesting of wave 9

completely new arc mechanic (ie what pwts should have been since inception)

not one, but TWO illicits

fraking DEBRIS FIELD MINES

another batch of character scum crew hopefully as bonkers as the last wave's

Does it have the yet to be revealed action ordnance, or was that a still to be spoiled thing from the ARC?

I have a feeling the Shadow Caster preview might be split into two..

1. One focusing on the new mobile fire arc mechanic (with a few standard and trademark FFG writer blunders), and perhaps pilots and their abilities.

2. One focusing on the new debris field mines and new upgrades and over-the-top scum only crew.

I hope not, but there is just so much.......

Who aren't a fan of pancakes?

That's still to be spoiled from the ARC, along with its dial.

I'm a bit sad that there's not a Banshee title as well as the Shadow Caster one, but we can't have it all.....

I think it's still overpriced for what it is, hopefully, the previews will reveal gameplay to be otherwise. I'd love to start seeing some dials on these new ships as well.

You must be new here.

I'm confused, is their a new preview article?

probably

it's modeled exactly after the spray, price-wise

the pilot abilities can theoretically compensate, especially Sabine's which is actually really good especially with DOUBLE STIMS :D

a bad message for kids, but a good time on the table

I'm confused, is their a new preview article?

There will be shortly, probably. Around an hour at a guess, maybe a little earlier.

I want my preview... and icecream. I want both at the same time! :)

The NEWS tab is rather lousy. I dont think the article is up yet anyway since its kinda early but often i'll look there and see nothing while others are talking about it, or i'll go back to find an older one and its lost in the void between pages

I know a lot of people don't like the look of the Shadow Caster or say that it's a Star Trek ship. I don't know about all that. Maybe I just don't watch enough Star Trek or just don't care enough about Star Trek. How many different types of space ships can people design? I think it looks fine enough to be in Star Wars and don't get the hate that it feels out of place. I'm just happy to see something other than another YT design. I mean, in a galaxy full of different peoples and cultures, I'm happy there are things that actually look different.

As for the stuff it brings, I think it should be pretty cool. I like the idea of a big Tractor Beam. I'm not sure how much I'll actually get to play it, though. I feel like I don't play as much as I used to. I love Dengar, but haven't actually played with him as much as I wanted. I'm thinking the same thing might happen for me.

I think the ship will bring cool new rules and some good pilots. I think the ship is unique enough and will be fun enough to play.

it looks like a startrek ship because they basically copied the general look the Starfleet uses: saucer section and two cylinder thingies on the side (warp nacelles). The saucer section is pretty basic and used in a lot of scifi flicks but in combination with the nacelles-look...and in a universe that has no real use for them...thats startrek

People are saying it looks like a star trek ship?

What?

Just because it's round, isn't it?

Flying saucers existed before the enterprise stuck some engines to it; star trek doesn't have a monopoly on those :/
