Ryad, Vader and the Inquisitor list

By Goseki1, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I really enjoyed playing a double Defender list at a recent tournament, though in all honesty I didn't fly it too well. However the standout pilot for me was Ryad, so I wanted to make an Ace list to run with her. I'd considered using Omega Leader who I love, but often find he's the last ship standing when time is called and opponents will therefore normally win on MOV.

I wanted to try something with a stripped back Darth Vader. I know it's considered by some to be sacrilege not to include Engine Upgrade on him, but I couldn't fit it. And honestly don't think I'd miss it that much.

TIE Defender: · Countess Ryad (34)

Push The Limit (3)

Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)

TIE/x7 (-2)

Total = 36

TIE Avanced Prototype: · The Inquisitor (25)

Push The Limit (3)

Autothrusters (2)

TIE/v1 (1)

Total= 31

TIE Advanced: · Darth Vader (29)

Predator (3)

TIE/x1 (0)

Advanced Targeting Computer (1)

Total= 33

For a grand total of 100. I think it'd be a pretty fun list to fly and a bloody hard one to bring down (without good blocking) and there are 3 strong ships which I'd struggle to decide on what order I'd take them down in. Them all having focus and evade every turn (outwith Vader acquiring hus lock) will also be a pain.

Like your list, consider Adaptabilty + Prockets + Chips on Vader instead of predator.

I'm sure you'll miss EU, makes flying a bit harder but imo still a solid choice. Vader+ VI+Prockets took me to Top4 (160 players) at Regionals, give it a try!

I hadn't really considered Prockets with chips/adaptability before on Vader. Interesting as it only has a 3 point cost... I think I'll try it, I like trying stuff that's a little bit unconventional (I don't think I've ever seen anyone play him with ordnance before, but that was pre guidance chips).

I would think about Lone Wolf on Vader. He's priority target because he's the slowest and least durable of the ships. Lone Wolf makes him tougher, and if you deploy him wide, going after Vader leaves the enemy squad open to two pretty punchy ships in the form of Ryad and Inquisitor.
