What exactly is the 'Twins' list?

By ParaGoomba Slayer, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

Apparently Luke and Leia are a good combo. Can it be explained to me exactly why?

Is there a specific Twins list that tends to do particularly well, or is it just a term used to denote a wide variety of lists, all of which have Luke and Leia in them? If there is not specific twins list, then what in your opinion is the best one?

leia works well with luke. Her ability recycles luke's card Son of skywalker. Her ability to attack combined with luke's attack makes for one massive hit and can take down most things. They both can heal and with focus can usually one shot most troopers.

The Basic parts of the build is

Luke

Leia

c3po

gideon

then you have lots of options to fill out the rest

rebel high command

2 e sabs

r2d2- to get son of skywalker quickly

1 e and 1 reg trooper

2 echo base troopers

There is no Best one each combo has its own advantages and disadvantages. Sabs u can use spy cards. troopers you can use trooper cards.

The first list to be called Twin Magic was

Luke

Leia

C-3PO

Gideon on a diplomatic mission

2 eSabs

Rebel High Command

The eSabs are really good, but unreliable due to their dice rolls. Luke's rerolls mitigate that. Therefore, positioning is key to this list and requires some practice. If you can handle that, in my opinion this is the best Twins list. (Depending on the Meta, maybe replacing Rebel High Command with an Alliance Smuggler.)

Since Bespin is released, add in the Spy Card tricks as a free bonus.

But actually any list starting with Luke and Leia is a Twins list.

The main thing is Luke + Leia = multiple attacks from your most powerful figures each round, and they've both got recover, so they are hard to kill.

I run a twins list and really like it. I have Luke, Leia, Gideon, C-3PO, Lando, elite rebel troopers, and rebel smugglers. I really wanted rebel high command, but I couldn't cut anyone. Lando is surprisingly effective with his rerolls, and the smuggler is great for fulfilling objectives and squatting on terminals. I might tweak it after gencon to get another force user in there since I have a lot of force user command cards (Davith for Lando is the easy, obvious switch, but I don't have Bespin yet and really like Lando. Obi-Wan can be very effective as well, so I'm going to try fitting him in somehow).

Happy gaming!

Yeah, this seems like the best one. What would an Alliance Smuggler add that Rebel High Command wouldn't? Seems like you really want command cards, and Rebel High Command just feeding them to you automatically seems more useful than what is essentially a single rebel Hired Gun that probably would have been put on terminal duty anyways.

I suppose it pads out the amount of activations you get which is nice.

I keep the alliance smuggler over rebel high command for several reasons. One, having seven activations is really beneficial. Secondly, he's great not just for terminal duty but also for fulfilling objectives. For example, take the One Man's Trash mission for the Coruscant Landfill map. IMO he's much more versatile and a better use of two points than Rebel High Command for that mission. But you also can't go wrong with more command cards with a twins list, so I see why people would go for RHC.

One of our locals does really well with an almost all-unique list. Luke, Leia, Obi Wan, Davith, C3PO, Gideon, rSmuggler, I *think* rebel high command.

I was just testing this out the other night.

It is okay. The problem is the same as the problem with all lists like this. You're rolling fewer, bigger attacks, so if one of them fails, you lose.

If Obi Wan attacks an eStorm and doesn't kill it, you're in trouble.

If Luke rolls all surges, you're in trouble.

If you turn up 1 or 2 blanks on the white die and no dodges, you're in trouble.
