Hi all. I'm new to IA. Just picked up the core and all of the expansions. I was wondering about campaign play. Are the characters in the expansions just for the expansions or can you use them from the beginning of the campaign? Wasn't sure if they were all balanced well with each other.

All heroes can be used in all campaigns. All imperial class decks can be used in all campaigns. All deployment cards can be used in all campaigns. The only restriction so far is the habitat keyword, limiting some figures to missions featuring specific environments.

Each pack and expansion has a pamphlet with instructions on how to incorporate all the components into your campaign (on the side with the skirmish map), you should read EACH of those pamphlets carefully, as some will have different restrictions on how you can use them.

The only thing that restricts what you can use in which campaigns are the Time Periods for side missions.

In the Core campaign, you can only include side missions that are playable in time period 3, and time period 5 for Hoth. Twin Shadows and Bespin do not use side missions so time periods don't matter there.
