x/7 Title Clarification

By Cgriffith, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I'm in need of assistance:

The tile specifically states:

"After executing a 3, 4, 5, you "may" assign a evade token to your ship"

So my question is: I do 3 - 5 maneuver and then assign an evade token. I do still as long as I'm not stressed get to assign a focus token as well correct?

also...

When defending is it true I can spend the evade to cancel "1" hit result, then when attacking spend the focus to change my attack results?

and finally...

can I assign an evade even after executing a 3 - 5 maneuver in which I assign one (i.e. 2 evade tokens basically?)

Thank you for the assistance in advance !!

EDIT: Just need clarification because each instance has been raised and disputed in a casual game setting

OK...

if you execute a 3+ speed manoeuvre you assign an evade token. Regardless of if you're stressed, if you bump, if you go over an asteroid, etc.

You can still take a focus ACTION, if you have that ability this round, or assign a focus token from another ability (e.g. Rage).

An evade token when spent *adds an evade result to your defence dice pool* which is then treated exactly the same as your other defence dice. it is entirely independent of any other tokens, so yes, you can still spend focus in attack or defence, whether or not you've spent your evade.

No, you can't get a second evade token, because the TIE Defender doesn't have the evade *action*. /x7 doesn't give it that ability.

No, you can't get a second evade token, because the TIE Defender doesn't have the evade *action*. /x7 doesn't give it that ability.

But if you did have the ability to take an Evade action, yes you could do that after the x7 assignment.

Cgriffith, I suggest you read up on the difference between these 3 concepts:

  • Acquiring / assigning a token
  • Taking an Action
  • Spending a token

Assigning a token is completely different from an action, so yes you could perform a focus action afterwards.

Yes you could spend both the evade and focus on the same turn, or even the same attack if needed.

No, you cannot have two evades with the title, because TIE Defenders dont have that action. But if they did, you could. (Example:soontir fel can get two focuses by his ability and then a focus action.)

Thank you for the responses everyone!
