AAR : 200 pt Armada Tournament at FFGC

By tgall, in Star Wars: Armada

Last night was a special 200 point format 3 round tournament at the Fantasy Flight Game Center at the mother ship. (Thanks Ian!) I've written up an AAR as well as cover what the format for the tournament was. 3 rounds of Armada on a weeknight you say?!?! Yup. And we weren't up so late as to see the sun rise. It worked and it worked really well.

So for those looking for an idea how to run weeknight Armada tournaments, have a look, I think you'll like what you see and more importantly I think you'll enjoy playing it.

See, 200 pt games are wonderful. Though. I dunno how much like I how complex this game version is.

I'm the nameless jerk in game 3. I actually came in 3rd by a few points (I don't remember exactly what the difference was.)

It wasn't that complicated. No commanders, no large base ships, no squadron limit.

The objective for everyone was "second player picks one squadron that ignores Counter and Escort".

so with no 1/3rd squadron limit, would you still have to take at least 1 ship in order to place your squadrons?

And that one ship would be your opponent's primary target given that if they take it out your opponent is tabled, but yes.

lol ha, for got about that rule too.

Yup exactly. Tho tabling an opponent is only 200 points. With 10 points a victory token, you've got some considerations to make least if you want to score north of 200. This little subtle dynamic made for quite a bit of fun.
