Loosing your Y wing

By Jondavies72, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

So if your in a tourneyment and one of your Ywings falls of its stand and gets lost ( but you still have two on the stand) and you can't find a replacement are you out of the tourneyment ?

No.

Or to be more precise, you were never in the tournament as you clearly are insane and thought taking ywings to a tournament was a good idea.

(There are rules about breaking components during a tournament, think this one is allowed as the squad is still usable and clearly identifiable)

Here is the brand new section from the Tournament regulations, presented in full:

Lost and Damaged Components

If a player loses a component during a tournament, he or she has an opportunity to find a replacement, if necessary. Any player that discovers they are missing an essential component at the beginning of or during a round should notify a leader. The leader will give the player a short time extension to their game in order to find a replacement. If the player cannot find a replacement within that time, they must concede the game. If the player is unable to find a replacement by the start of the next round, they should be removed from the tournament.

If an essential component becomes damaged during the course of a tournament, he or she has an opportunity to find a replacement. If the player cannot find a replacement, the damaged component is treated as lost unless it falls within one of the following categories.

• Damaged Card : The player keeps the original card near the rest of his or her fleet and uses a proxy card in its place for the remainder of the tournament. A leader will create the proxy, including the card name, any information that is no longer legible or available on the damaged card, the name of the leader who created it, and the date it was created.

• Damaged Ship/Squadron Model or Connection: The model, in its damaged state, does not impede the progress of play and abides by the rules under “Component Modifications” on page 4. If the model does impede play, the player keeps the model near the rest of his or her fleet for the remainder of the tournament.

• Damaged Dice, Range Rulers, or Maneuver Tool: The player keeps the original component near the rest of his or her fleet and requests to share his or her opponent’s component for each remaining round of the tournament.

Such a thing (the loss of a single squadron model) would fall under the "Damaged Ship/Squadron" section, and as was stated by Ginkapo, as long as it was clear that you were still representing a Y-Wing Squadron , then you would be completely and utterly in the clear.

Put a little ball of cotton that looks like a fireball on the empty stand and voila! Squadron losses!

How did the tournament go with the Y-Wings?

The last time I played with ywings was that last time I played a rebel list at a comp ( store champ) and I came second only missing out by one point.

Luckily the fighter I lost was not at tournament it was at home, it just got me thinking what if and should I take spares to nationals. The good news is I've just found it again, bad news is I noticed it just as I ran the hover over it, it's now in three peices.....

"They Came From.... Behind!...."

Yes I may give it a go, but the image in my head and what I produce are unlikely to be cogent.

Use a bit of pinning wire to spread out the wreckage, then add in some cotton (spray and paint some cotton swab tips and use the wire to punch through it)

If you were nearby, I'd trade a 3-pieces damaged Y-Wing for a whole Y-Wing today :D

Snip of one arm of the triple post, and viola, you have a clear identifiably Dutch squadron with two Y-wings on the stand.

I did that with a B-wing squadron to make it stand out more as Keyan. ;)
