First, who is going to Worlds? I'll be there and have a ticket for Armada 1B (Friday).

This is my first trip to FFG's pleasure dome. Some questions:

1. What are good hotels/motels to stay, that are close to the venue, etc..? Anything that doesn't require renting a car to get to the game site? I'm flying in.
2. Any suggestions on how to pack and travel with my toys? My first thought is only pack what you're playing and bring it on as carry-on?
3. Anyone playing in other events? With the registration system I was only able to get a ticket for Armada.

I'm staying at Roseville Key Inn? Yeah, definitely carry on. Side events can be signed up for the day before.

I'm lucky enough to be able to stay with relatives. And I'll be driving, so I can't comment as to the luggage. I only registered for Armada, but depending on the times of side events maybe I'd do one of those. I heard the team Armada game was fun last year.

I'll be there for day 1A of Armada. The Radisson in Roseville is the closest hotel to FFG, and is also where some of the events are being held this year.

I drove up last year and packed all my Armada stuff in my car.

I'll probably participate in the Team Armada tournament on Saturday but none of the other championships. Friday I'll probably take a trip over to the St. Paul Curling Club and watch a game or two.

I assume this would be the best hotel to make a reservation at. I don't have access right now to the Worlds info page, which hotel the Armada tourney is being run at, and is it the same place for all of their Armada events, Thurs-Sun?

I'm also going to be there (my first trip as well). I thought about booking Radisson (given that all Armada events are going to happen there) but ended up doing Key Inn as its much cheaper. As far as flying goes, carry on is a good suggestion and works (although you may want to some extra stuff for team tourney fleet).

My first time too, day 1A. My buddy and I are planning on the team game. We booked at the Key Inn because it's so much cheaper even though some events are at the Radisson, so we'll just plan on walking. I'm going to bring just the Armada stuff for the tournament and team game, and then I'm going to bring some xwing stuff for the hanger bay events. I have more stuff than I want to bring I think so I'll just have what I'm playing. I think I'm going to pack it in foam trays and make a custom cardboard box to put the trays in in my luggage.

I'm really excited to be going for the first time! I only know I'm registered with a Champion Reserved Seat, I have no idea whether this is 1A or 1B. Hopefully I can score (afford) a room at the Radisson as that will be very convenient.

I can't wait to meet everybody that is able to go! (Three months to figure out how the new waves will impact the game.)

I'm at the Key Inn also 1B. Ive stayed there before. Its ok...but don't count on the breakfast being filling..FFG is walking distance (my jeep had a sleepover last time I was there) but the armada stuff is at the Raddison. Also close enough.

I'm planning on going as well (first time for me too), assuming I can get the time off of work and if flights are reasonable. I'll probably stay at the Radisson too, for convenience. I'll be there for Friday. Not sure what else I should look into doing as Armada is the only FFg game I've really explored. Unless there's a Twilight Imperium tourney?

How is the team tourney handled? Teams of 2? Do I need to find a teammate prior or can I link up with others when it begins? As of righ5 now Im only in the Armada event and who knows if Ill be free Saturday for team tourney.

I believe you are able to hook up there. I'd bet most people will who aren't in a group. I just happened to play a game with tgall last night, and got a sense for how he flies, and I know we're both local (obviously.)
