Obi Wan Luke Davith List

That should link it. Any thoughts? Ideas? Tips? Still kinda new to making skirmish lists.

Off the top of my head the group is;

Obi Wan

Luke

Davith

Gideon

2x Elite Sabs

Command cards are mostly force user based that I can remember. Thanks guys!

your missing out on a lot of the spy command cards since you are running davith and sabs. the group is pretty good.

You know what? First time running Sabs and didn't even notice they had the spy trait! Hahah! Time to work on that, thanks!

Id remove Luke and go Leia/C3PO. Then thatd be another Spy and reshuffle your discard pile back into draw pile.

I think Leia is just too good to ignore...

For reference, here is a very popular squad that has been quite successful in competitive play for a while:

10 Luke

8 Leia

7 Elite Saboteur

7 Elite Saboteur

3 Gideon

3 R2*

2 C3P0

*People have dropped R2 to add RHC and OaDM. However, it seems like the R2 version is stronger because of his Scomp Link which can let you draw more cards mid-round, which is significant with Leia’s Military Efficiency ability (primarily used to recycle Son of Skywalker).

So if you want to work Obiwan into that squad, it seems like you basically have 2 options:

--Drop Luke (10pts) and add Obiwan (7pts) and the RHC & OaDM upgrades (3pts)

--Drop Luke and R2 (13pts) and add Obiwan and Davith (13pts)

8 Leia

7 Obiwan

7 Elite Saboteur

7 Elite Saboteur

3 R2

3 Gideon

2 C3P0

2 RHC

1 OaDM

…7 activations and 9 figures. 3 groups of spies and 1 Force User (2 with Leia’s CC).

8 Leia

7 Obiwan

7 Elite Saboteur

7 Elite Saboteur

6 Davith

3 Gideon

2 C3P0

…7 activations and 9 figures. 4 groups of Spies and 2 Force Users (or 3 with Leia’s CC in effect).

Personally I prefer the one with Davith because it makes much better use of both Spy cards and Force User cards, and it also has more attackers. And Davith is cool. He’s also very useful to finish off wounded enemies (troopers especially!) after you’ve done some blast damage via focused Saboteurs. You've also got 5 different figures with Speed 5 on the board, which is more than most squads have.

However, the major difficulty with squads centered on Rebel Heroes is that the Deadly ability (surge: remove a Dodge) can be devastating, and that ability is on the Inquisitor (popular now) and Elite ISBs (also popular). Your whole squad other than Obiwan and Gideon have white dice, so you could be in trouble in these matchups. Also, the HK Assassin droids love shooting at White defense dice, since they can make you reroll a Dodge. I think that these White-defense squads can still be played, but it'll just require more careful tactics from you as the Rebel player.

do you like Obiwan over Diala? I've had better luck with Diala honestly due to her ability and recover. Placement may be a bit trickier, but Obiwan seems to be focused too easily and doesn't hit very hard for me. Of course, I've never rolled anything but one block on black dice.

don't get me wrong, Id love for Diala to have 10 health but I guess my experience varies.

Eh, I haven't played Obi wan yet, tonight will be the first time and I'll let you guys know how it goes! Going with my original list for now, I like leia but my dog chewed her model up to crap and I want to get a new one first before I run her.

So I'll start off with saying there's only 3 of us at my LGS that play.

Tonight I went 2-0 with;

Obi Wan

Luke

Davith

Gideon

eSabs x2

Deck;

Tough Luck

Telekinetic Throw

Deflection x2

Come Disruption

I Can Feel It

Slippery Target

Hard to Hit

Stealth Tactics

Son of Skywalker

Vanish

Element of Surprise

Negation

Planning

Take Initiative

Needless to say it went well. First game was a Chewy/Leia list second was Bossk/Dengar. Obi Wan was a beast second game, one shotting an elie Trando and I learmed Davith is excellent for his point cost and he remained hidden throughout both games thanks to surges. Luke is quick and a nice heavy hitter and the eSabs did work with surprisingly stunning a lot. Gideon did his thing and focuses were plenty all around.

I really would like to work on the deck though. The first game I pulled every card thanks to planning and terminals so I kinda got a sense on where things were. Deflection was too much help, I played both in both games mostly just cause, never really a good time to play it. I believe stealth tactics adds a white die? I played that to roll 2 whites with Davith both games and that worked great, no x men's but plenty of 1 Block+1 Surge cancels. And slippery target was kinda meh. So help with the deck would be appreciated!

Slippery target only works against inexperienced players or melee units. I think\hope that may change due to what their releasing and the way the game is heading. Honestly, against most lists, it will probably do nothing, so you may be better off with anything else.

I'm suprised you don't have Heart of Freedom in there. I roll terrible, so I support the defensive rerolls and added dice, but sometimes its nice to just add health even on Luke who can go down in a hurry. Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat. There are 3 of us that play, and my opponents don't really follow tourney meta that folks talk about here on the forums exactly.

I might not have it...hmmmm...I don't own Wookies, Chewbacca, Smuggler, Sorin and Weiss so if it comes in one of those I don't have it yet. And yeah, slippery target was used once last night just because on a Trando Hunter that went in for some strain action on Davith.

Well, its still good, if you're playing against trooper spam only it probably won't come into play, Royal Guard Champion, Inquisitor, new rebel force users as well as trandos, are going to want to get adjacent for the most part, which is why I think some of that may change overall, local meta can be different.

Heart of Freedom comes with the Alliance Smuggler - easily my most favorite figure pack in the game.

Currently 4-0 with this list at my store beating list that contain; 1. Chewie/Leia, 2. Bossk/Dengar, 3. Adv. Comm Kayn and 4. Dengar/Leia

My recent change is getting the smuggler pack to put Heart of Freedom in my deck, taking out both deflections, and also adding in Force Rush which helped more last game then Deflection ever did, haha!

Last night was the closest game I've had though, won 29-27. Forget the name of the map/mission but there were 3 force pillars worth 2pts when controlled and one deployment could double activate and was worth double points. I picked Gideon and my opponent Kayn. He ended up camping the corner with 2 pillars and got 20 of his points that way (round 5 was last round I believe) and 7 from beating Obi Wan. Other than that he killed one Sab and half killed another but blast and x-men rolls were great and a trooper spam list!

I'm trying out an all-unique list that has the same core. Luke, Leia, Davith, Obiwan, C-3PO, Gideon, and Murne. That gives you three spies and the ability to draw a card when someone dies. I don't know if this will be good competitively, but it'll be a fun list to play. Murne and Obiwan work well together, and the twins are always a good pairing. Like works well with Leia's Battlefield Command ability, which also helps to keep Luke alive.

How do Murne and Obiwan work well together? I'm not criticizing, I'm curious on your game plan or if there is an interaction I'm missing. I generally use Obiwan as a mauler, He runs in towards the end of a round and kills stuff up close. But he almost always dies early. Murne, I'm still figuring out how to play. She needs to be close, but not too close, and I don't get her field report off very often, bc my opponents don't play enough command cards and I use mine constantly.

Well, I haven't played them but once together, but I played against them a few times. My thought was that Obiwan benefits Murne because he's such a target that it provides some protection for Murne to pop in and use her (?) ability. I bring some other units with them to add protection for when Obiwan falls, but having Obiwan around gives her more leeway to move around. I was also hoping to give Obiwan hidden more often, but I haven't seen how often I'll be able to use field report.

But again I haven't played much with or against this list yet.

I recently ran the following:
Obi Wan
Davith
Gideon

C3PO

Lando

Smuggler
eSabs x2

Surprisingly strong list. Some force users, some spy cards, lots of activations.
After going 3-0 with it at a small local tournament, I think I might swap out C3PO or maybe the smuggler for 2x Targeting Computer.

It needs more testing because I haven't played against a top tier trooper list yet but it has potential.

Lando is pretty fun but could also be swapped for Jyn.
