Mynock Squadron Podcast XXVII: Jeff Berling Dengaroo Interview!

By Mynock Delta, in X-Wing

As the ingenious originator of the infamous Dengaroo squad, he has several choice words regarding the terms "broken", "overpowered", and "easy mode". We concur that there are several juiced elements in the current X-Wing competitive meta (looking at you Emperor Palpatine), and have a spirited discussion about their respective merits.

Jeff holds some of his proprietary secrets close to the vest, but like all of our master X-Wing guests, he shares much sage insight and advice to assist beginner and veteran pilots alike.

Blunder better

Enjoying the ep today, so much hate for aces.

First, I think this was an excellent podcast and really enjoyed the listen. I only wish it would have been after Gencon since it would have been very interesting to hear Jeff's analysis without having to hold as much back (that's not a complaint).

I will respect Jeff's opinion (and yours) of Palp but I believe -- and World's results from last year show -- that rebels were a very viable archtype even with Palp in the picture. We saw a good balance of scum, rebels, and imperials in the top 16 and even the top 32 (again at World's last year). However, that all tipped when the Uboats came out which I agree did make it hard for rebels to deal with both the damage output of that list and the aces.

Agreement

Jeff is now my favorite interviewee. Awesome. D, let him and Dallas talk. Remember, you have quality, when they talk you do not need quantity.

But then again Dragons devour everything.
