Stealth device question

By Darth Matt, in X-Wing Rules Questions

If you take damage from an asteroid, does this cause you to lose stealth device? My thought is no, because the card specifically says damage from an attack, but just wanted to make sure I am playing it right. Thanks.

You are correct it has to be from an attack. I think that even damage from a bomb doesn't cause you to loose it but that could be wrong.

No you only lose SD if you are hit by an attack. Note that damage is not needed. Being hit by Lt. Blount or Tracers will cause a hit even if no damage is dealt, and this will discard SD.

And along those same lines, Wampa's ability is not a hit. You take a damage card but keep your Stealth Device.

I agree about Blount but what are Tracers?

Nevermind, I found them. So along those lines then TB would also cause the loss of SD.

XX-23 S-Thread Tracers are a missile secondary weapon that does no damage on hit but allows a bunch of ships to target lock you.

Correct.

Any attack where the number of uncancelled [boom] and [kaboom] results is >0 (or which Lt Blount fired) is a Hit.

Nothing else in the game is a hit. It has to be an attack (either a primary or secondary weapon) and it has to satisfy that condition. Nothing else is important to that determination of hitting.
