Smuggling Compartment spoiled.

By dewbie420, in X-Wing

I'm going to run Hot Shot blaster on Han!

Seriously though,

If the new low PS yt-1300 is actually falcon Stats, it could be an amazing Bumpfalcon with Feedback Array that Rebels kind of wanted. Outside of Feedback, would the new SLAM illicit on Lando allow him to give two actions if he moves on a green twice?

Assuming it works as we expect it to, yes. I don't think it's necessarily enough to rescue Lando from the 'somewhat iffy' pile on its own though.

It's not, thought I really wanted to get a later movement TL for my Kwings or possibly a later in the rotation BR for Ezra w/TLT and Tactician who can then PTL off the second action Lando gives.

(I saw on reddit)

Good on both freighters. Zero point cost. Allows you to get an Illicit upgrade and an additional mod up to 3 points.

I'm loving these zero cost upgrades.

Is this in dat:

  • Shadow Caster Expansion Pack

... it's the only place it could be right gang.

;)

But they can already PTL off the first action he gives?

Heroes of the Resistance brah.

What is that in distance, 10 spaces?

This is X-Wing. What are 'spaces'? ;)

Oh wowzers... that is so **** far off I almost forgot about it...

Yow!

Depends on what is doughnutting him. If it is Dash's perennial nemesis Soontir Fel then 1 1 damage and Ion sounds like a pretty fair price for one automatic damage that he cannot token/evade/Palpatine away.

In eachange for two to four damage to him? I will absolutely take that deal with Soontir. If I'm running palp aces with e.g. vader and soontir or inquy and soontir, you have three rounds of feedback before you kill SOontir, by which time he and his bros have killed you (or got you to the point where the last feedback skills you), especially when you'll be doing a very predictable 1-straight-br on one of those turns.

It's certainly a painful trade, but it's one I'd absolutely take in that position. It's still preferable to donut him than to risk the hyper-accurate HLC.

True but if Fel has got into your doughnut hole, Dash will be taking that damage anyway. I am not saying this will scare off people from trying to get inside the R1 circle but it will make them pay a bit for doing so. It means it is no longer a safe bet, particular if the ace in question has already taken any damage.

I definitely agree it's an interesting possible option, I'm dubious about whether it's better. Probably about the same would be my best guess - particularly as it sharply limits Dash's action economy if you plan to run him with Feedback, as every other turn he has to guess whether someone's going to donut him, or whether he's alright to take his second action, because if he feedbacks whilst stressed, he's screwed.

Not with Kanan! It is a white maneuver after all.

True, true.

If we're talking about PTL/HLC/Outrider/Kanana with either feedback/ion or apl, or engine, I think they will be broadly the same as each other, to be honest. I don't think either will be especially better or worse.

Dash doesn't need engine. Let's not forgot an engineless lone wolf Dash won Gencon last year.

I'm just trying to recall how often I've run a double Falcon, double 2400 or Falcon/2400 combo build...am I going to need to buy two HotR [or pay an outrageous price for another copy of the card] ?

(nah...this time I really will just proxy it :D ;) )

First, let me put on my Nomex.

OK, here we go: While I love the thematics around Smuggling Compartment, I don't like Illicit escaping from Scum. Are we going to see Unhinged riding X-wings next instead of R2? I know mechs are a different thing but I feel the factions need things to keep them different and the illicit slot was one of those things.

Now, if you want to talk about a Scum Falcon or Outrider I'm definitely on board.

The worst part about this card is that it doesn't say " YT-1300, YT-2400 and YT-2000 only. "

The illicit SLAM in particular sounds like it could be interesting if they don't wreck it with RNG requirements. In particular, the idea of an ORS doing a 4 straight>4k>Bomb via ASLAM, Chopper and Sabine seems hilarious. I think that pretty much ends up with a Conner Net landing on an enemy in turn 1.

Put Sabine on another ship so you can add Bombardier.

4 move (4 total), + 2 base (6) + 4 move (10) + 2 base (12) + Bombardier (14) + Conner Net = ~15.5?

Don't think that's quite enough, but it will be funny to pull it off once. Sadly, you're PS1, so setting up across from someone isn't exactly your choice.

Meaning that Kanan isn't necessary, meaning that your crew slot is open again.

Sort of. First, you're back to being limited to greens, so blockers can be somewhat of a problem. Second, Kyle probably makes his way back in for the Focus token. Third, ion + stress is a bad combo, but as noted above it'll be a white maneuver, meaning Kanan can go back in to remove the stress.

I want the XWA ships as well. ;)

Could only people who have actually read the rules and/or understand what the various upgrades are and how they work post combinations from here on, please?

Otherwise, I feel we're only moments away from someone talking about running an illicit cloaking device + stygium particle accelerator equipped Dash...

Dude! I can't wait to run the Falcon with Test Pilot Title, Juke, Fearlessness, Smuggling Compartments, Engines, Vectored Thrusters, and for crew I'm thinking maybe, Mara Jade. When I boost, BR into Range 1, shoot my Advanced Proton Torp AND give you a stress...that's gonna hurt

I thought this forum was for all level of players. From the people that have the rules memorized and play often to new players trying to find the rule and figure out how it gets applied.

It is an intersting way to try and wean people off of EU. Allow for some more variety in list building.

Though this eill probably be declared stupid, dumb, useless and DOA in 5...4....3...

You can get the Countermeasures Glitterstim combo on a 2400 or Falcon.

Not bad, Rey would like to pile on action economy after doing a sloop with the new Falcon title and getting something in arc to trigger her ability.

I'm not very impressed with this at this point in time.

It's not good enough to make bad pilots good, and for the pilots that were good (like Dash or Han), I hardly see anything in the current selection of Illicit upgrades that would make up for the loss of Engine Upgrade.

That being said, the upcoming SLAM Illicit looks promising, and there's still Han&Chewie mk. 2 to be spoiled.

The illicit that comes with the Shadowcaster that allows you to drop a huge debris field seems like something Dash might enjoy.

You can't equip that Conner Net without Sabine.

Same as the Falcon's parsecs :P
