What about Poe Dameron... crew?

By Rinzler in a Tie, in X-Wing

In response to Rinzler in a TIE:

Yes, although there's a larger part to it. Disney now owns Star Wars and has made some drastic changes to the way things are done. This includes changing the entire expanded universe around which X-wing is based. because Disney wants their product to be the most prevalent (instead of say, Soontir Fel, who now doesn't exist) they may have "suggested" to FFG that they make Poe and other notable icons from their new media prevalent in the game. This gives Disney essentially free publicity (however slight) for their new films. Since Disney owns the license to Star Wars, they have a lot of power over X-wing, should they so choose.

If he's not allowed to drive, he sits in a corner and sulks - thereby costing 0, taking up no crew slot, and providing no benefit...

...he's actually on more ships than you realise!

- - -

He's also a crew member for the Imps... only they call him "Rebel Captive".

:)

You'll see a Poe crew card once you see Poe do something aboard a ship other than fly it.

How do we guess Finn will be an arc-locked gunner? Because his entire job on spaceships to date has been as a gunner, and in one case the gun was literally locked in position.

Bit hard to guess without seeing them in action though, eh? :P

Every Crew Card is heavily thematic to the characters outside of possible piloting activities.

Luke and Han representing them as gunners like shown in Ep. IV -> Boosting your attack

Leia gives motivating speeches and coordinates rebel operations -> Turning manouvers for friendlies white.

Chewie and Leebo are technicians -> Reducing damage/critical damage

Lando is a gambler and likes to take a risk (e.g. attack on Death Star II) -> a lucl dependent abillity which can result in no bonus

Vader uses the Force to cruch bis enemies not caring about his own men -> Dealing damage but also taking it.

Mara is the Emperors right hand/agent/assasin. Her beeing at the battlefield is enough to stress anybody. She also is Force sensitive and has knoledge about electronic warfare -> Stress bomb.

Jerjerrod pushes his men to work harder and faster.

-> Sends another crew to superwise the repairs. Or does it himself.

Dash has the knowledge of fighting in asteroid and debris fields -> Ignores obstacles.

And so on.

What do we know about Poe?

He is a **** gold pilot. I don't know how this should support a good crew abillity.

Don't forget that we know the emperor likes to put his feet up.

Not a bad idea to use him AS a pilot. Actually could be a great way to get a few generics back on the play-mat.

Poe Dameron

Rebel Only. Crew.

Increase your Pilot Skill to 8.

Edit: You can only equip this upgrade if your printed Pilot Skill is 3 or lower.

2 points

(No pilot ability, just a really nice Veterans Instinct)

So... it should be Rebel pilots with PS3 or lower (and ships that have a crew slot) could use the Poe.

He would be limited to: Blue Squadron Pilot, Warden Squadron Pilot, Rebel Operative, Zeb, Braylen Stramm, OuterRim Snuggler, WildSpace Fringer, Eeden Vrill and Lothal Rebel.

The crew card I'd really love to see is Ackbar. In the EU he often flies in a B-Wing E2 - something synergistic with that maybe?

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but my Ackbar Crew would read:

4 points - Rebels Only

At the beginning of the activation phase, you may flip up to 3 friendly double-sided upgrade cards.

Hopefully by that time we will have a double sided S-Foil card for the X-Wings and B-Wings with an action to flip the card. It would also make Adaptability truly adaptable. Thematically this gives him the strategic mind.

I like the idea of Poe increasing your pilot skill.

3 points - Rebels Only

Increase your pilot skill by 2. Your upgrade bar gains the Elite Pilot Talent upgrade Icon. You cannot equip this if you already have an elite pilot talent upgrade icon or if your pilot skill is 6 or higher. You may not equip if your hull value is 9 or higher.

So like a supped up R2-D6. It would also solve the rebels lack of low end elites. He is a fighter pilot so that's why the hull value restriction, plus I think FFG limited the VCX-100 for a reason.
