This is my first post here so please be gentle lol

I bought Armada 3 days ago and I've only had the one chance to play it. I was playing the learner scenario with my wife. I've found the rules rather complicated and not very well explained. Things like the command dial, and placing them at the bottom of the pile. Why would I do that when I can only use 1 per round and then the next round I have to choose the commands again?

Can anyone provide a simple or a more in depth explained copy of the rules please

you stack the command dials on top of each other having to plan strategically X number of turns in advance. So say a MarkB has 3 command dials while a gladiator has 2 command dials, and a raider has 1 command dial. the MarkB has to plan 3 turns in advance !!! while the gladiator only has to plan 2 turns in advance, and the raider 1 turn.

so before round 1 starts, you set your MarkB dials all 3 to what you expect to do in round 1,2, and 3.... so let's say you set the top to maneuver, the middle to repair, and the bottom to concentrate fire.. when you stack them the top dial will be round 1, the middle dial round 2, and the bottom dial round 3. when the MarkB activates in round 1 you take the top command dial and reveal it to your opponent so he sees it is a maneuver command. at the end of round 1 you take that manuver dial and place it at the bottom of the stack, making your repair command for round 2 the top command dial, then concentrate fire becomes your middle dial then you set the bottom dial which will be for round 4 whatever you expect to do in round 4.

Alternatively find if there is a group of players at the store you purchased the game, of someone on the lookout for someone to play against. They will be more than happy to teach you the game and hopefully gain a new opponent at the same time. Not to say that the ideas previously mentioned are bad, they are all quite good, but just putting forward another choice or solving the problem you have.

Did we scare him off? Anyway, OP, hope you don't get too overwhelmed with the rules. The first game is almost always super intimidated. Play your second game, and you will have a much more enjoyable time, I can almost guarantee it.

It's a Java program you can run on any computer. It basically replicates the table top experience on the computer. Well, it's not the same of course, but it's a good addition to RL games. And even better if you've trouble finding opponents.
