New invistigator mini's painted?

By serre, in Mansions of Madness

Hi,

In the video i noticed some new names of investigators, will they be released painted as well?

Who knows? From the image in the preview, it seems they come unpainted in the core set. Then, if the minis will be made available pre-painted at a later time, we'll discover from FFG

I hope not. The default paint job is usually terrible, and I also prefer my minitaures monotone for some reason.

It looks like they will be unpainted grey plastic, just like in 1st ed.

Not to mention the paint they use for them is thick and obscures the detail.

Now to me it doesn't matter if they release them prepainted as I don't fancy them but other people do.

I just would like to see everything get released at some point during this second edition in the 'clean' grey plastic. :)

There is always the option to spray all black then drybrush up in metalics like somebody has done in the Imperial Assault forums, pieces look like pewter, bronze and brass.

Looks great.

So there are options easy for non painters thus releasing unpainted and not obscuring detail is best for us painters and best solution.

Its easier to spray/dry-brush than remove paint via brake-fluid and simple-green so it seems best all round solution to have unpainted minis to be honest

The miniatures look more detailed in 2e, so I don't think they'll get added to the premium painted range.

To be fair, those images of the miniatures are just the 3D models, not the actual miniature casts themselves. I suspect detail to drop sharply in production.

To me it looks like the miniatures are exactly the same quality/detail as 1e. The cultist in the digital mock-up image we've seen looks like the exact same figure that came in 1e.
