Delta Class DX-9 Stormtrooper Transport

By DariusAPB, in X-Wing

I want an IA scale of of these too, that needs to happen.

I swear all I'd do is have an officer with elite stormtroopers as my IA list...

That's a brilliant idea. I'm sure there's a set of paper craft plans for it that could be rescaled and used for a plasticard build.

Given the ships blocky nature (oh the 90's!) There has to be one, or at least it could be relatively easily fabricated.

This is completely awesome!!!

I have been thinking about this from the very moment that I learned about x-wing.

My plan is to call a ship disabled when it has as many ion tokens as it's shield value.

Would be great to have a model for x-wing and Imperial Assault.

I prefer the ATR but I'll take the DX-9.

I certainly won't take the Rogue One shuttle. There seems to be a dearth of good sci fi ship designers these days.

+1 for the use of dearth.

And yeah there hasn't been decent designers since the 90's when it comes to star wars.

When the lower lateral tetrahedrons were reinterpreted as 'winglets' for the later graphically enhanced games the location of he weapons was moved as well. Before the change the lasers and ions both originated from the tips of the tetrahedrons because larger ships in those early games had gun emplacements that were just little pyramids stuck on the side of the ship. Too bad we didn't get super cool greebly cannons mounted on the winglets instead of goofy looking tubes stuck to the cockpit.

The DX-9 stormtrooper transport reminds in shape to the All Terrain Armored Transport (AT-AT). Metal grey, blocky, little head, big body.

And well, it carries stormtroopers. :)

The Wikipedia lists Kuat Drive Yards as the AT-AT manufacturer, while Telgorn made the DX-9.

It feels weird, though, that a shipyard like KDY made also surface vehicles... Sometimes the head canon is better than the canon.

Ah, the space tick, whose hull looks like an AT-AT without legs.

No.

I have a Mel's of that too. Used to proxy a firespray.

Still to each their own.

Nahh, give me the Gamma class....

If the DX-9 is a space tick for you, then what is the IPV-1? :)

To be fair the upgrade version of the IPV one is GORGEOUS.

Someone beat me to it. I think the PS, attack and evade should be lower with an upgrade or title for mini proton torpedoes. Remove focus from action bar and add boost. Any collision caused by another small or large base ship: roll one red die and suffer any hits/crits.

I'd like the Gamma too, Neither the escort or Gamma however are canon.

The more slim/sleek IPV is a cool little craft.

(I say little but it's actually nearly twice the length of the Gozanti)

Yeah I really love the sleek one. Shame no hyperdrive if I recall.

Still though, I agree. The Delta, JV-7 and Gamma class, along with the sentinel all need to be there eventually.

I added an addendum to my original ion rules effort post, it probably has the wrong templating, but multi -card errata as a rule is hard to write.

Well ... Now I have an Idea ^^
