Strain in Skirmish Against the Game Effects

By Chabuda, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

With the Bantha maps being the new Skirmish maps come August 1st, I have a question on strain against the Dianoga. Basically, does the strain from something like force choke resolve in extra damage or is it just ignored?

As far as I remember, strain works only on figures. Also see that the ability works on objects. (Dianoga is an object, right?)

* Conditions cannot be applied to objects, and objects cannot suffer strain. Objects cannot be pushed.

It makes sense in how the game is played. I just question the thought that the diagona could be considered a figure. That thought coming from the fact that it's technically alive. Getting nitpicky with that. Your explanation is probably the intention of FFG.

Tokens are objects by default, even when they are named (like Shortatha in Indebted). The mission rules need to explicitly make a token a figure for it to be considered a figure.

Yeah I typed up a big rant about how the dianoga really breaks lots of rules and it totally doesn't make sense etc etc..... until I realized that the dianoga is simply an object.

That pretty much answered all my questions about it.

It's not a figure, it's an object.

Of course, that's still stupid for things like Blaise's Interrogate but that's a separate issue that I've already discussed at length.
