Just what the title asks, Is the Salvation ability a Crit effect?

This came up recently, so I thought I would float the question here.

Apologies if this has been covered already.

No sir, it just alters the amount of damage that face does. If it was a crit effect then it could never resolve the default critical, which it definitely does.

Page 4 of the Rules Reference Guide:

Critical Effects

A critical effect, denoted by the “E:” header, can resolve if there is at least one E icon in the attack pool.

Critical Effects are shown by the Crit: Header.

Salvation does not have the Crit Symbol, followed by a :

Ergo, it cannot be a Critical Effect, and its just bonus!
