Elusiveness, Ezra Shuttle, and Omega Leader

By balindamood, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Does Omega Leader's ability prevent Elusiveness or Ezra's ability from triggering?

Just wondering.

Neither Ezra pilot or crew would work because they're both modifying dice (changing focus results to something else). But Omega Leader doesn't say anything about not being able to modify HIS dice, so Elusiveness should work.

EDIT: Sorry, Omega Leader says "ANY dice," so Elusiveness is out too.

Well R7 does not get around Omega Leader. I had link but lost it. I think it's in the latest FAQ. So likewise I don't think Elusiveness gets around it either.

As for Ezra it seems like a straight up mod so I think OL blocks it.

Omega Leader prevents ANY form of dice modification on the ship he has locked. A ship can add or subtract dice, but it can't modify it's results, or Omega Leader's results. And the last line of Omega Leader's FAQ entry answers the OP's question.

Omega Leader

If “Omega Leader” has an enemy ship locked, and Emperor Palpatine is equipped to a different enemy ship, the ship with Emperor Palpatine equipped may modify one of the locked ship’s dice.
If a ship locked by “Omega Leader” attacks “Omega Leader” with a Heavy Laser Cannon, it does not change its <kaboom> results to <boom> results.
Adding or subtracting dice (i.e. Jan Ors) and canceling die results (i.e. Crack Shot) do not count as modifying dice. However, added die results (C-3P0, Advanced Targeting Computer, Accuracy Corrector, etc.) do count as modifying dice and cannot be used.
If “Omega Leader” has an enemy ship locked, when that ship attacks or defends against “Omega Leader,” that ship cannot resolve abilities that would modify dice, even 0 dice, such as Keyan Farlander’s ability. Additionally, that ship cannot resolve abilities that cause “Omega Leader” to reroll his dice (such as R7 Astromech or Elusiveness), as these are abilities that modify dice.

(Correct me if I am wrong) I believe Crack Shot can still cancel OL's Dice as well because it's not a modification as it's done at the Compare Results step. (as Parravon said... Subtract)

Cancelling dice is not a modification ever.

The timing isn't what determines if it is a modification or not. There are three things that are modifications:

1. Adding results

2. Changing results

3. Rerolls

Both HLC and C-3PO happen before the modify dice step but are still both modifications. Accuracy Corrector happens during the modify dice step and Omega Leader does nothing to prevent it from canceling dice (though he does stop the addition of results by accuracy corrector).
