Mauler Mithel and Howlrunner?
Alpha Squadron TIE Interceptors with Requiem title for PS8?
ACE Level Pilots like Soontir Fel and Carnor Jax?
4 Academy TIE's with Vector to deploy a swarm?
Just a few options I considered.

3 Gamma Vets and a Jonus Shuttle.
3 Academy Pilots and Howlrunner is my normal setup.
Usually people do bombers for a really nasty alphastrike on the enemy huge ship that is really difficult to prevent without clogging the area up or somehow killing the gozanti at a distance.
Or
Load it with cheap academies and run the PS8 title. Lot cheaper, has the alpha-strike mentality though its nowhere near as deadly as 3 proton torps with a Jonus behind them, it can still lay on a lot of hurt for the price and since its just academies they have a low value and thus might go ignored for awhile while the bombers would be lit up immediately to prevent further ordnance (assuming they at least had EM on there for 2 torps). Usually better for hitting large ships rather than huge since a 2die ship hitting a reinforce hull rarely does any real damage.
In fact i just had an epic game with that exact situation. I had 3 academies flank wide and dodge everything except for a random Single Laser Cannon when he could spare the energy (which never worked lol). They did a pretty hefty amount of damage until he realized i was ignoring his huge ship out the front, both because the raider's rear is far more valuable to take out and its easier to take out. He reinforced the rear, and unless i intentionally bumped i couldnt keep range1 by the time he moved and without the 3rd die i usually didnt do ANY damage. Course that was part of my plan was to get him to switch the reinforce but its still a good example that TIEs are meh against huge ships lol.
Alpha Squadron TIE interceptors. Requiem isn't even necessary, because you have full knowledge of where all the other ships deployed, so you should be able to land out of arc...oh, except for turrets. Yeah, Requiem isn't such a bad idea.
EDIT: Because TIE interceptors are NOT meh against huge ships.
Edited by ParakitorI haven't gotten good use out of 3 bombers and jonus. Also cost too much.
I'm now of the opinion that 3 AP Howl or 3 Ints Howl would be better for their cost.
Does anyone know for a very competitive set-up what to do? I have extremely competitive Epic builds.
I ran four Crackshot TIE Interceptors in my last game. Deploying after all the other small ships have moved is boss.
4 black squad with Juke or crackshot ...
Nuts to the rules! Four Lambdas on the Gozanti.
But standard TIEs seem to end up as the most... efficient option, with Interceptors being a second choice. Honestly the few times I've run the Gozanti I've just used it as a large turret ship. Rather uninteresting but effective.
3 Gamma Vets and a Jonus Shuttle.
This or 3 Black Cracks plus Howl Crack.
Bombers are ridiculous. I bursted down a Ghost in 2 turns, no chance of avoidance. Could also do that with most epic ships. Don't do it in a friendly game, though, kind of sucks when you prepare for a nice afternoon of dicerolling and lose your centerpiece within minutes.
None those docking clamps are way to tight fitting on anything pre wave seven.
4X Bombers OR Interceptors.
Bombers loaded for bear, interceptors actually alphas. The idea being launching a counterattack or of course a bomber alpha strike.
4 Alpha Interceptors is a fun payload, if fragile in an Epic environment. I tend to be a huge fan of 4 Tempest with AC and Cluster Missiles. The TA shines in Epic (even before the title fix) because of their durability. I often like to escort bombers with TAs. Now with the title, they become even harder to take down. They don't need a token for offense, freeing up their action every turn to take an evade.
I had great fun with 4xTempest, prockets, AC and Requiem
Agreed on bombers, interceptors, or advanced. The TIE fighter is nice, but not really worth taking a space on a carrier for.
A cluster missile salvo squadron of TIE advanced could work well - cluster missiles, accuracy corrector and guidance chips can lay down some serious pain.
Screw Ties load it up with X Wings you know you wanna see it!
I guess it matters what type of game it is. Is it Epic? What are your goals with the ship? Is it a mission? Or the campaign that comes with it? What is your goal with the ship?
