I recently picked up the Inquisitor TIE, but I'm not particularly familiar with its capabilities. Anyone one have some configurations/roles they favor for it?
Show me a strong TIE Advanced Prototype
Standard inquisitor is 31 points. Title, PTL, autothrusters. + Prockets if you'd like.
Yep. Extremely resilient and efficient.
And just as an FYI: He negates Autothrusters but cannot game missile range.

Baron of the Empire outfitted the same way is a cheaper alternative, though you will be paying the penalty for low PS is activation timing. Still good if you need a filler ship but can't make the 31 points work.
The Inquisitor tie is, perhaps appropriately, really just the Inquisitor
His ability giving you a die of damage at range 2 and FAR MORE at range 3 (denied range 3 bonus and thrusters) catapults him beyond every other TAPs pilot by far
He's actually one of the most cost efficient ships in the game

Sienar test pilots at 17 points with just the title make excellent blockers, if you want a little more manueverabillity and punch than a regular tie.
The base TAP makes an excellent filler/blocker:
19 Test w/ PRockets, Chips.

Inquisitor: PTL, Title, Twin Ion Engine MK II
Opening up his banks to green really is nice to help him not be as predictable. I have really enjoyed flying him with this build. But he is a bit weaker against Turrets this way.
TIE Advanced Prototypes make half-decent missile carriers if you don't care about a second shot, and once their missiles are away they're a much better dogfighter/blocker than a TIE bomber.
The Inquisitor is easy to use - Push The Limit, TIE/v1, Autothrusters.
I've also seen Baron Of The Empire, Crack Shot, Homing Missiles, Guidance Chips, as one-shot snipers.
Have had some success with Barons.
I was 3-2 with:
Carnor 34pt build
2x Barons + PTL + Concussions + Title + Chips ( tried Juke + Homing but Barons die to easy without that focus)
Academy Pilot
My brother used my list at flgs casual night, but he swapped Carnor for Soontir with TL and went 2-0. Taps are great blockers, and those green hard ones make sure they get shots every round. They peck away at opponents.
