If you weren't aware, Chumbalaya's audio kept cutting out.

Yeah, I was excited for the episode but that kept bothering me and I had to stop listening. Hopefully its something you can fix before next episode :)

If you guys want to try Armada while you're at the NoVA Open, I'm sure some pick up games can be arranged.

Full disclosure: I'm not very good at Armada, at this point.

Really enjoyed the epic talk. It's a lot of fun. Some thoughts on Epic:

  • The CR-90 can shoot further than the Raider and it likes to broadside enemy. Don't rush at them. Try to circle them and fire with long range shots. Maybe one Single Turbo Laser to add to the main gun. Make sure you have short range weapons, too, and probably a fighter screen to help you out. Engine Booster helps you keep the CR-90 moving and Engineering Crew helps give you that energy. I like to try to circle the Raider and send in my X-wings to blast at the Raider while the CR-90 softens it up.
  • Generics are generally better to use in Epic than named guys. The names ones can die too fast and you can get more out of cheaper ships. I've also found it's good to bunch them into squads for specific purposes. 3 A-wings work to clear enemy fighters. 3 Y-wings/X-wings/B-wings work to attack enemy Epic ships. Not only can this be really effective, but it also cuts down in picking dials and shots as you think of them as a unit as opposed to a bunch of individuals. They have their task to do and go towards it.
  • It's hard to get TL's for all the ordnance ships as Epic ships move last. I've found that Rookie X-wings are better than ordnance Z-95's often enough. They are more durable and will do more damage over time with 3 regular red dice than 4 one time shots.
  • If you face a lot of enemy snub nosed fighters, the Ion Torpedo is a great weapon. It's good for hitting a whole squadron of ships and slowing them down. If you are going with circling CR-90, it's great to stop that squad of ships that is trying to get at your flanks. It's also good against Epic ships as it drains their energy a bit AND does full damage.
  • Horton Salm w/ R2-D6, Deadeye, GC, and 2 Proton Torps is a beast in Epic! He still needs Deadeye due to the difficulty in getting the TL on Epic ships moving last.
