I wanted to ask because I usually mount my large ships on my huge ship bases so I can use the big stand that comes on them, but someone at the gamestore said that the way the center mounting peg is positioned on the epic ship bases throws the arc of the ship off, saying the template is slightly farther forward than it should be otherwise on their normal large ship bases. I am curious about other people's thoughts on this and I want to know if there is an actual ruling somewhere.
Can large ships use huge ship bases?

I've never seen anyone have a problem using an epic stand of a normal ship, personally, up to and including at regionals and Yavin.
I've found that if you want to use the huge peg, you have to use a huge base. They don't fit right into the large bases.
As far as I know there is no rule that would permit using the huge ship base instead of the large. I would make sure that you take a large ship base and pegs to any tournament that you intend to use a huge base in or check with the TO in advance. Otherwise you may end up having a bad day if an opponent complains about it.
the smaller peg joint on the huge plastic base allows for some wiggle room for the cardboard base insert, which could mess with your arcs. As long as the front of the cardboard matches the front of the plastic and it is held in place properly by the stand, i don't see a problem.
I use the epic stand with my Oicunn to avoid model collision. I noticed there is a raised ring on the bottom of the peg itself that when properly seated it forces the cardboard to line up properly on the plastic base. All the TO should have to do is ensure that it is seated properly.

I think you may be playing Oicunn wrong. ![]()
Ramming Oicunn into everything you can is the only way to play him.
